Yesterday I hit the Like button on someone else's hub for the first time since I joined HubPages.  I thought that the hub might be of interest to some of my friends, but I don't know whether any of them have bothered to read it.

I know it can help the person who wrote the hub, but how can it help me?

When someone is nice enough to share then I go read the hubs of the person who shared . If I like their hubs then I share one of theirs ! Has an ongoing effect . When people answer my questions I go look at their hubs as well !

@ Gina - if you go to the bottom of the screen when you enjoy a hub and would like to link to it from Facebook or from your own site, then you can use the "link to this page" tab to get a referral link before posting that hub's link elsewhere.

If we all help each other by hitting like which takes under 60 seconds we all play a part in getting more viewers for all of us / Also leave a comment - click on a button and vote up if you enjoy it . We will do the same to you !

It's the old 80-20 rule, if you put 80% of your efforts towards helping others, you get a 20% positive effect for yourself.

You know, I am sad to say I never even thought about that (the facebook like). I make sure to comment and vote up or down, but I forgot all about the fb button. Thanks for the reminder!!

No I don't. I took out my Facebook account a while ago and enjoy the wonders of real conversations with friends and family over a nice cup of coffee.

I do share Hubs always when I feel they're worth it! Even better...

I link Hubs of other great Hubbers very often to my Hubs. This will help a great deal to get them some more traffic or attention.

I live abroad as well and I visit my family and friends quite often.

Facebook became an unpleasant addiction to me. I use Skype (with a coffee), pictures we send by mail and friends in Spain always meet me over a coffee on a terrace:-)

I don't have an FB  A/C but i do share hubs i like with my followers and frequently vote and comment .A couple of months ago i became more aware of others being proactive in sharing etc. so i went back through my hubs and tried to put at least one link to another hubbers hub (on related topics) in each of them and will do so on future hubs too. What goes around, comes around, so the theory goes anyway :-)
