    Signing up new members

What is the proper procedure for signing up new members to Huppages and are there incentive benefits?

There is a proper process and yes, you do get an incentive (10% of their impressions, taken from HP's share, not theirs.) You can get them to sign up via a referral tracker, full details are here:

Yes, there are major benefits. For every person you refer to HubPages, you earn 10% of everything they earn.

To earn referrals you need to create links that include your referral tracker in links to HubPages. First you need to find your referral tag. Go to the "My Account" section of HubPages. Then click "Earnings" from the options along the top row. Then on the left menu, click "Referral Trackers."

You can use the tag you are given or you can create as many as you want. This comes in handy if you want to track where you are getting your referrals from. I recommend creating a new tracker so that your link doesn't look horribly complicated.

Open a notepad document and paste any  HubPages link you wish to direct traffic to. As an example I will use the Sign Up Page:

    https://hubpages.com/user/new/

Then add your referral tracker after the "hubpages.com" portion of the link. For example, if you tracker was "ReferralTag" it would look like this:

    https://hubpages.con/_ReferralTag/user/new/

**Note: If you click the above link it will not work because I had to change .com to .con to follow the HubPages rules.

Make sure you include the underscore before your tracker! You can do this with any hubpages link. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Good answer but there is an easier way. At the very bottom of a hub there is something that says "link to this page". Click on that and you can put your referal in automatically.

You are totally right Thomas. I just think it's good to know how to do it the old fashioned way wink

I hope I'm doing this right:  I go to the "link to this Hub" at the bottom of the Hub, click and copy. Then I go to the Hub and write an invitation to join in a text capsule. I type "HubPages.com  then I use the "chain" in the text capsule, and insert the URL.
It looks like it works that way.
From what I read, a person has to sign up within 30 days of them clicking on the link, but income we make is 10% of what they make.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

As long as your link looks like this:

      https://hubpages.con/_ReferralTag/user/new/

you are golden. You can post the link wherever you want... You could email the link to your friends or post it on your facebook.
