I could use some constructive criticism on ways to improve my hubs.

I have been writing hubs for a while now, but have recently noticed a drop in my views. I have done quite a bit of work to my hubs but the views still kept dropping. I would love some constructive criticism on my hubs from you guys on ways I can help to make them better.

There are a few good Hubbers in the forums offering constructive criticism. At the forums there is specific category for that - Improving Your Hub.

Goto the Forums at Explore above

On the left in grey you will see 'Hubpages Community'

Below that you will see 'Improving Your Hub' Select that

Select at the top right 'Start a new discussion'

For the subject just ask "Help with a Hub please"

Remember to receive help you have to post a link to the Hub in question in your Discussion message

Be patient if posting during the day because some of them are early risers not on during the day, in Europe, and Australia.

    Best of Luck . . . and, best wishes . . .

I am glad that you raised this issue, because you have highlighted the fact that  Hubpages is a microcosm of the Capitalist system. What you are experiencing is the reality of Capitalism. Here on Hubpages you are competing with thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of people from all over the world. You are also in competition with "millions" of writers who publish on other platforms such as Triond and Helium. Of course, I am sure you were already aware of this, but this is something many of us tend to dismiss, or overlook, simply because it is a sobering reality that can greatly diminish our motivation to write.

Since I started writing for Hubpages 3 years ago, I am making more money online. How so? I am using Hubpages, not to make money on Hubpages, but as leverage to make money elsewhere. It's better to get 30 views that are interested in buying my books and music than 3,000 views that don't buy anything at all. Let's face it, comments like "Great Job! Loved your essay!" and "I agree, Americans are lazy and arrogant!", are nice to hear, but they really don't pay the bills.

My goal is to attract people who are of like mind. There are many people who are disgusted by the great "American Dream". I am also disgusted with it, and so in many of my Hubs, I express my true feelings about the evil of America. Although this angers the Archie Bunkers of the world, it also attracts those few brave, and righteous souls that are in agreement with my views.

Apparently, they are more interested in supporting someone who is helping to dismantle an evil system, than to spend their money on Joe Blow; the guy with the pretty face who prostitutes himself by singing any kind of song; anything that he and his handlers feel will bring in the large green. I am not getting rich doing this, but most people born into the working class never get rich anyway. But I am making money every month, and it allows me to continue doing what I love to do. If you haven't already, I would suggest focusing on using Hubpages as leverage, instead of a direct source of income. It's working for me!
