If you make a spelling error in your title on the Create a Hub page, and you don't realize it until
you get to the capsule page, but before you publish, is it better to scratch that hub and redo it fresh? The error stays on the URL link although not on the hub title.
I would, but of course if it is a spelling mistake that people actually type into their search, then leave it as it is, because you can reinforce that title with keywords and other phrases and it will still bring in traffic.
Most times however it is best to do two different titles, one on the permanent URL and one on the editable one, but the keyword phrases need to be nearly similar.
I have done this recently, actually. I just remade the hub with the correct spelling in the url. I know that it can be made up for when you title it correctly and use the proper amount of keywords, but there is no reason to make marketing it even just a teeny more difficult. It's not like the hub has already been published and is indexed.
I just make a new one in this case. It would be cool for hubpages to allow us to change the url under certain circumstances such as this.
This happened to me. I didn't even realize it right away. It took me months before I realized it. But for some reason, I just used title tuner and fixed up the title. The permalink remains the same with the wrong spelling but I still get ranking on the first page of google for the correct spelling. Google "arguments for and against surrogacy" I'm over there and you'll see I mispelled argument in the permalink.

I hear the phrase, "mature a hub," a lot. What actually happens when a hub matures? I know people say that after a hub has matured (around six months) it starts to do much better. But what actually happens when a hub matures? Thanks!

I give! I've searched the first 3 or 4 pages of "Getting Help" Forum and I've read the entire Link's Capsule section in the Learning Center (http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/using-hubtool). That Hub, by the way, has a large number of Quick Links in it. How do you create a list of topics...

I hope this is in the right forum. I am trying to figure out what went wrong with my hub. The second day I was on the first page of google. I realized that I hadn't put the right title, I meant to change it before I published it and had forgot. so I went back and change the title....

I'm sure you folks are too smart to do this, but I just did! I misspelled the word "depression" in my latest Hub! Taught me a good lession: go slower. Now it's there and there is nothing I can do about the URL. I did edit the title to correct.

I am major curious about the answer to this mystery.... just how much traffic are those Hubs who make it to the HOT HUBS actually receiving? I know that most likely nobody is going to give this up with specific numbers.... but how about some averages as to what kind of traffic brings a...

Some of the Hot Hubs are excellent, don't get me wrong. It just depresses me that 30 or so hubs about Indian, Pakistani, etc actresses in sexy poses rank way ahead of any of mine. Actually, I went about 20 pages into hot hubs and gave up. It was too disillusioning.
