I'm about positive that there is a percentage of text that can be copy/pasted from somewhere...
else, but should that percentage be exceeded, then a hub is flagged as "duplicate content."
Are we in agreement? If so then I'd like to know the percentage of copy/pasting that we can use. I think that I had a lot of information from a site concerning shareholders in a corporation, and that got me flagged. It was pretty irritating, as I thought it was essential to the topic
Oh dear.. I would love to know too. Please write a hub about it after you find out. Thanks, Todd.
Copy the text you want to use into Word, or a somparable program. Make sure you remove in links like Adsense and then you should be able to paste it. Just, make sure you give credit where credit is due and Hubpages shouldn't have a problem with it.
I am not sure why you would be copy and pasting into a hub. I always create my hubs to be unique and totally my own. If you are using quotes then I would believe that you need to use the quotation marks and cite your source.
If I have missed something as to why you need to copy and paste then I apologize. As of yet I have not seen any need to copy and paste from another place.
I see your reply, I am not sure how much of that makes up the entire hub. Perhaps the amount of listed names were making the majority of the hub. It is a very confusing situation.
Vicki goodwin, the hub was about the Monsanto corporation, and copy pasting a long list of shareholders who make profit from the misery of others, and hold public offices was absolutely essential information to the topic of the hub.

Actually, HP is not clear as usual. They just flag and unpublish.
I read somewhere that anything over 20 percent could be considered duplicate, and plagerism.
I hit Google for answer through webmaster tools. No specifics there either.a
A list of names like you did, I read that you could have just written a brief paragraph about these people as a whole, and then hyperlink the content to the site that has the list of names.Of course, at the end, cite your sources for information.
But try to figure out HP is impossible. They flagged me for duplicate content. I rewrote, an extensive rewrite of 3 articles into one hub, ran it through copyscape, only 10 percent was found duplicate, yet HP rejected it. Oh well, HP, I posted it on another site without any problem.
The term Original Content is funny actually. Nobody writes totally original content. If we did, there would be no need to research anyting. We would be writing everything from the top of our head so to speak.

My most recent hub was flagged for duplicate content by an automated system. I have read my e-mail, the Learning Center, and the "help boxes". They all tell me, "This Hub seems to contain text that also appears on another page and may be unpublished as a result. If you revise the...

So .... I was just flagged for a hub I wrote last night. It was flagged as a duplicate.I didn't even cite anything in this hub. I quoted a bunch of stuff in my Anaconda piece and none of it was flagged as duplicate, so someone must have copied and pasted my new hub. Everything on...

I've just seen that one of my hubs has been flagged up as having been copied. Someone has copied it word-for-word on Yahoo Answers. What should I do about this? And will my hub score suffer as a result? Thanks, Moon.
