This is something new, being that I have been offline for the last year and am just starting back up where I left off.
So how do I get editors choice, and does it come with any benefits (like higher search rankings)? Does it have to manually be picked by staff like HotD or is it an automated algorithm?

I had 11 Editors Choice hubs. I noticed today that I only have 10 of them now. I don't remember exactly which hub lost the EC status but I have a feeling it might be a hub that has become unfeatured due to engagement....

Just curious, one of my hubs, selected as a hub of the day some time ago has been my top performing one for quite a while. However, it does seem odd to me that hubs of the day are not automatically selected as Editors...

I had a hub that was receiving around 1,300-1,500 views per day. It was chosen as Editor's Choice. It then dropped by about 1,000 views per day. I opted out of the program, but that hub is no longer showing in Google...
