    What's your referral tracker?

What is the link that you want to send them to? Or are you unsure where it is that you need to send them for a direct sign-up?

    I like something subtle like:

If you think you'd like to make a little cash why not join hubpages and join the party!

No I have my tracker ok DS but I want to put just what Lissie has done above me on my Profile Page, so if you could tell me how to do that I would appreciate it. I am totally useless at setting up a link and haven't a clue how to. So Help please !

Oh right, so how would I code it to get the 10% affiliate money if someone joins through me ?

I think you might have things a little confused.

Trackers will track to wherever you send them. So if I were to add my tracker that I've called 'recommended' to one of your hubs, it would look like this:

      http://hubpages.com/_recommended/hub/Do … g-A-Tattoo

I could put that in my blog and when people click through I get about 10% of the ad impressions. How much revenue I make from that depends on how people click through on my ads. If I know someone into tattoos I could give them the same link. I've got a 1 in 10 chance that it might be my ad showing, but there's a chance this friend goes 'wow, what a cool page!' and they send the link to their friends or they tweet it or they put it in their blog or myspace page.

Now if any of these people decide to sign up to HubPages (within 30 days of having clicked on that link) then I get the referral. And from then on I get about 10% of all their ad impressions (but it's not taken out of their 60%, it's from HubPages 40%).

As I said, the trackers can be used anywhere, so I can send traffic to your or anyone elses hubs and get an immediate reward. Bonus reward if people sign up.

I can also send people to forum threads, it works the same way. Though there's no ads. But again, if they end up signing up, they're my referral.

Or I can send a person straight to the sign up page.

To clear things up a little, the link that Lissie has used for an illustration isn't the best URL for getting people to join (the text is fine).

It would send people from her profile page back to her profile page. If they did sign up, she'd still get credited, but it's less confusing for the visitor to be sent to the sign up page than back to the same page.

This is what I use on some of my hubs: Sign up to HubPages and start earning today!

My tracker is _join, you of course wouldn't use that. You could use the default tracker (but I think they look unsightly) or choose one that identifies you, or in as I have in this case, one that blends in. But I'm sending them straight to the sign up page.
