For those of you that like to ping your hubs, Pingates is no longer available. I used Pingates a few weeks back when I saw it mentioned in a hub. When I went back today it says the site's account has been suspended.
Pinging is something I've seldom done. I am interested in opinions on pinging.
I rarely do it, you can use pingler.com or ping.fm for a replacement service though.
I just go to the Google ping page and use that for my blogs. Nothing else.
what is the google ping page? I mean... ?.com or ?.net or ?.fm or ???
I believe it's http://blogsearch.google.com/ping
Going to give it a try! Pinging on multiple sites is tedious and some sites are sooooo slow.
does it have to be a blogger blog or can we post our hub profile there?
I use Pingates for all my hubs and was sad to hear it might be gone.
I just checked, and it seems to be back, but with far fewer sites available to be pinged.
As for how useful it may be, I do very little backlinking, and Pingates is one of the 3-4 sites I always use. And I seem to be doing pretty well with HubPages so far, so it *might* be useful. It certainly hasn't seemed to hurt anything...

The blog post made it clear you're interested mostly in brand new hubs for the niche sites. If you release a list of topics you'll be making niche sites for, we can write new hubs on those topics. You'll have to do so eventually and doing so now will give us time to create enough content for each...

Now that I have a camera with a half decent resolution I am considering making some of my pics available for microstock sites, I am attracted to the idea of another residual income, even if that income is modest.I would be interested in hearing whether or not anybody else has used microstock sites...
