Some spammer keeps getting into one of my Wordpress sites, I'm using an older version of WP...I did enable it as an article directory where others could write but I've had to disable that.
As far as I can see I've disabled any way of them logging in, I've changed my password.. they kept hiding viagra links in the html of the posts..
I read some where that plugins can cause the problem, just wondering if anyone else has had this?
Is it possible for you to update the version to the newest one, or are their features of the website and its design that prohibit you from doing that? It sounds like it's currently vunerable to attack. At the very least I would ensure that you back up your articles in case something worse happens than these links appearing. I'd also disable all non essential plugins in case one of them is causing this problem. Those that remain I'd make sure they are the current versions.
