Angels and Aliens
Angel or Alien?
A study done by a University in the United States in 2008 concluded that 70% of all Americans believed in Angels and that 55% believed that they had a guardian Angel looking over them.
In the bible, Angel was substituted for the ancient Hebrew word meaning messenger. The word Angel comes from the Greek word for “go between” or messenger.
Many ancient texts tell of Angels. Hebrew, Sumerian and Byzantine, many others depict them in drawings. It has been said that these ancients just gave them wings to signify that they had the ability to fly.
One of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Book of Enoch, tells of fallen Angels coming to Earth, they had both regular Angels and leaders. They would mate with humans. Texts tell that when an offspring of an Angel and a human results, that they are giants. No bones of giants have ever been found, so did they mean, not physically but mentally? Enoch states that these Angels taught him astronomy, math and other things.
Angels are obviously not from this Earth. So, if we substituted the word Angel in the Bible for alien and Arch Angel for alien leader, would the Bible seem different?
If these Angels really are messengers, then are they really messengers from God? If not then where or who are they messengers for?
They obviously have an interest in us and an interest in changing our lives. It was them that warned Locke to leave Sodom before an unstoppable force destroyed it. Unstoppable, was it really a time bomb, already armed?
It is clear to me, that we only think we have an understanding of what happened in our ancient past. We often substitute things to suit our beliefs. Will we one day learn what really went on, and if we do will it be different from what we think today?
