When you graduate from college with your bachelors degree, is it a wise decision to move up state?

I feel like it is a good decision to move where ever you heart leads you. You have to branch out to discover life and make a financial living. Majority of the jobs are usually up north or the south.  They key to really growing up in this world is discovering yourself and through discovering yourself, you have to move out on your own.

tlgreen: I thought this was an interesting question. After reading your profile I thought it was even more interesting. I would say the wisest decision is to stay in school and get your masters degree... because that will eventually allow you the option of teaching at least on the junior college level. To answer your questions... Writing does not necessarily need a place...If I were in your shoes, I would stay where I could write and make the most money or live the cheapest and still write the best.  Ask yourself why upstate is better then where you are... if your answers are not about writing, then that can be your answer!  Good luck, ds

    tlgreen,

Welcome to HubPages. I, too, read your profile. My suggestion is to stay where you are after your May 2012 graduation. If you want a career in writing, there isn't any reason for you to move. I agree with davenmidtown regarding continuing with your education and getting an advanced degree, A Masters degree will open many doors for you. I'm looking forward to reading your first Hub and adding you to the list of Hubbers that I follow.

I think moving upstate would be fine as long as you have things set up for yourself, at least 6 months in advance.  You wanna be wise at knowing all the details prior to making a huge move such as that.

This is the same for moving anywhere for that matter.  If the job is right and you have your finances set you shouldn't have a problem, just make sure you always have security money in place just for emergencies, such as being layed off from your career job, or anything unexpected.
