   With the proliferation of home computers, high speed internet and classes being offered even at the high school level as tele-courses, I should think this is a definate possibility.  Especially as schools become more and more dangerous because of shootings and drugs and rape.
   
   However, for this to work would require parents to actaully be parents who take a concern in their childrens lives and are willing to set boundaries; like "it's time for school, sit down and log in."  I don't see modern parenting moving in that direction for most of our society.
   
   Home schoolers are the exception.

   I home schooled my son and daughter a few years living in a community bad for drugs and in the school with the school hiding the fact. We owned our home there though and business and I took my children to work with me and luckily had two separate small rooms if needed, but don't think I ever did. The books are really expensive but a must and there was much I had to learn to teach it to my children so it is not an easy job, and I have seen home schoolers who are not being taught and I suppose someone takes tests for them so I really think someone should be able to test periodically to be sure these children do not grow up uneducated simply because parents are too lazy to put them off to school or any variety of reasons.

   It's a definite possibility. Every child has different needs and it's hard for one classroom to accomodate all of those needs. However, I think before home schooling will become the de facto option, classrooms might develop the technology to offer a better learning experience.
   
   It's just too hard for parents to have the time to work all day with their kids.
   
   Still, it definitely can work and it's something you shouldn't be afraid to do with your kids if you think the classroom environment isn't right for them.
