5. Gallipoli
6. The Odd Angry Shot
7. Tora! Tora! Tora!
8. The Fighting Rats of Tobruk
9. Von Ryan's Express
10. The Four Feathers
Those are my choices for top ten. If I could go another ten I would mention: A Bridge Too Far, Twelve O Clock High, Zulu, Sink the Bismark!, Cast a Giant Shadow, Kelly's Heroes, Midway, The Eagle has Landed, Cromwell, and All Quiet on the Western Front.

Other contenders-
(11) Das Boot

(14) Unbroken
(15) Letters From Iwo Jima
(16) Red Tails
(17) The Victors
(18) Miracle at Santa Anna
(19) Sahara w/Humphrey Bogart
Das Boot about a German U-boat (submarine) crew is an interesting choice and also a top film.
Yes, that was a great war movie which taught about the immorality of war. So was Stalingrad. Everyone should see Stalingrad. It showed the utter cruelty and brutality of war.
The Top Ten off the top of my head:
Saving Private Ryan
Beneath Hill 60 (WW1)
Porkchop Hill (Korea)
We Were Soldiers
Bridge Over The River Kwai
The Longest Day
Kelly's Heroes
Battlefield
Gettysburg (Civil War)
Full Metal Jacket
I highly recommend Kelly's Heroes if you need a laugh. I got memories of watching that movie as a kid with my dad.
Can't name ten. But some of my favorites are:
Saving Private Ryan
Schindler's list
Fury
Blood Diamond
Body of Lies
American Sniper
In my opinion, and not in order of best to least best, the following spring easily to my mind
Saving Private Ryan
A Bridge Too Far
The Longest Day
The Cruel Sea
The Dirty Dozen
Where Eagles Dare
The Battle of Britain
The Battle of the Bulge
Midway
Bridge on the River Kwai
So far this is looking like the best answer, just as my own personal opinion. I need to watch some of these movies that others have suggested, because I don't think I have seen some of them. Bridge on the River Kwai and Where Eagles Dare are great.
I can't think of 10 that left a lasting impression. There are two that hubby and I watch over and over.
Saving Private Ryan
We Were Soldiers
300 (this is Sparta!)
Apocalypto
La Grance Vadrouille with Louis DE Funes (WW2 in France funny and interesting)
