Do you have less respect for celebrities that do commercials?
USA's major movie stars have been doing commercials in foreign countries for years. Now some are appearing in USA commercials. Does this turn you off and cause you to disrespect them?
No. I don't begrudge anyone making money so long as they aren't doing harm.
It depends on the commercials. The cartoony fungus medication commercial with Mario Lopez makes me question his judgment, but it fits his role on gossip TV shows. I also wonder how many celebrities use the products they promote, and I turn off the sound of most commercials, anyway.
I like that Tom Hanks has done only one commercial that I have seen, for the WWII Veterans Memorial, promoting recognition for our Veterans.
Not at all, but when they become irritating and annoying, then I start getting "Remote Fever." (e.g. the GEICO Peter Pan ads and the John Karinski voice overs, I cannot tolerate these). But when the celebrities lend their image and voice to a cause that will change our lives in a positive way, I am not against that.
Not really. Movies themselves are commercial products!
Actors like anyone else are entitled to pursue lucrative opportunities. Musicians have been doing Pepsi and Coke commercials for years.
Back in the 1970s John Wayne pitched Great Western Financial and Datril headache medicine among other things.
Two time Academy Award winner Jane Fonda sold exercise videos. Oscar winner Halle Berry has done Revlon makeup commercials for years. Elizabeth Taylor pitched her White Diamonds perfume in the 90s, Oscar winner Charlize Theron has several Jadore Dior perfume commercials. None of this is really new.
Some actors will and others won't but it's always been that way.
The real question is: How many people will actually buy a product just because an actor, singer, or athlete is pitching it?
I can't think of a single time I made a purchase because of a celebrity.
Not at all. They have mortgages, family obligations and bills like anyone else. Lucrative and high-paying acting jobs are hard to come by unless you're the hollywood elite. So most actors do side jobs in between. I bet Samuel L. Jackson is making more off commercials and endorsements than his acting gigs. More power to him getting paid.
And Jackson's commercials are entertaining!
nope, every celebrities have their rights to do commercial, they earn more, good for them

Is anyone else tired of blaring tv commercials? I have to adjust the volume every time a...commercial is aired.

I asked the question but yet, have my own answer. I am just curious as to what anyone else might think as well. From my perspective, I find it rather funny that even on a website directed mostly at adults that we find such a great deal of immature attitudes reflective of hatred towards us as...

What is the stupidest commercial on television?I vote for the basketball player hitting things out of people's hands! Don't even remember the company who's advertisings name. Usually change the channel before they get to it.
