Johnny Depp is, for me, the greatest living actor..... too many great films to list.

Harrison Ford, the prolific actor with most box office hits...

Great question, hard to answer.  Harrison Ford, excellent but I think Johnny Depp is more universal and then you have Meryl Streep (gosh, she is good in everything she does).  I just don't think I can pick one.

I was thinking more old school: Robert Duvall, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro.

Robert De Niro is certainly very talented.... always found Al Pacino to be a bit 'typeset' into the same roles. Great at what he does, but never really broken free...

There are so many great actors, what about Clint Eastwood and Jack Nicholson? also great actors?

I don't believe the question can be answered simply.  There are a lot of talented actors in the world, but by and large the actor who may dominate in one genre (such as action flicks) will have to yield the championship to another when the the genre changes (to, for example, musical comedy).  Then there are the millions of actors who are never seen on the silver screen but who are nonetheless brilliant actors...such as my late father, who always acted like he didn't care what people thought of him...but who in truth cared to his very bones.

Or--another example--Keanu Reeves was spectacular in Matrix but probably wouldn't have done at all well as the aging athlete portrayed by Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler.

Nope. But that doesn't take away the fact that he's a good actor smile.
