What family "unknowns" do you wish you knew?
I don't necessarily mean family secrets, but unknown information that you wish you knew.
I wish I knew more about the human family's prehistory, especially around the migrations of the children of Atlantis. There's a growing amount of evidence in support of that island empire's past reality, including 3 items of scientific evidence for an Atlantis-like event right when the island supposedly subsided into the Atlantic.
Scientists seem to be afraid to look. They need to protect their egos and their careers from ridicule. One PhD historian found more ruins off the coast of Bimini, but an archaeological professor refused to investigate, because it would threaten their career. Anything associated with Atlantis is to be shunned as "blasphemy."
Science by ridicule. How primitive.
Wow, Lone Star, I didn't expect ATLANTIS! See, that's why this is fun and I'm addicted to the questions. I know nothing of Atlantis, but I love being on the Pacific (tee hee).
I would like to know about my family's history on my mother's side. I just can't find it. I have tried the sites that give you a 100% guarentee that they will find your family history. My Grandfather came from Cuba and moved to France where he met my Grandmother. Her last name was Joussemmee. His was Pedrero. They left France because Hitler was coming towards France. When they went through Ellis Island their last name was changed to Pedro. I can find it on my Father's side all the way back to the Mayflower and even father back. But, nothing on my Mother's side. Well, my mom was here in Wisconsin, so information can be found about her, but as for her parents, nothing.
WI? Me too. Born in MIlw. My mom would put down "American" when the nuns asked for nationality and I like to think the whole family was ashamed to have people even THINK they were German because of that man! We all lost a lot of heritage from him.
Now that I am older (you can see my dinosaur parked outside) and my parents died when I was a kid, I wish I could know them as people and not just my mom and dad. What did they feel, how did they face life and marriage.
I have older cousins who remember my mom and dad as a new couple and their memories of them are so divergent from my own. Wish I could know more about their past.
Dinosaur parked outside! Cute! Don't you think that's maybe why we write. If someone later one wants to know about us - it's HERE! I'm so sorry to hear you lost your parents so young. If you look to yourself, you'll probably see them there!
My mother died when I was too young. I remember her having two brothers. But since my father got married again they never turned up. Actually I don't even remember if she had her parents at the time of her death. I want and wish a lot to know about my mother.
My father hates me talk to him about her, since he has a second wife. I sincerely wish to meet her brothers again so that I could fullfill my dream.
Your father must have loved her very much because what I have realized is that some people won't open the door to the past is because it's very painful for them to do so. I tried ancestry.com for info. and felt I knew a bit more my grandparents.
