Since my clients are criminals I get to vent on them all the time.  Great stress relief.  Being in law enforcement when you spend months finding someone it's a pleasure to let 'em have it.

Lucky you! When I was in my previous company, there was this lady called Bianca from client side who used to bug the whole lot of us for all sort of silly things. We all used to feel like killing her. No wonder she never came to visit us!!

With my last job I never vented at them since they were important to the company. Although, I would vent after I left a meeting or off the phone with them.

In all my 25 years plus of customer service & sales, I don't ever remember having 'vented' on a customer.

I'm very direct and plain-spoken at work, but I don't vent.
My exwives used to call and vent to employees and supervisors at work about how terrible I was. I didn't need to say anything. After it all died down, people at work saw clearly who was sane and rational and who wasn't.

They're still trying to get me committed.

Just try not to talk when customers or clients talk. Then try to say sorry, they would love to hear it from you and it will subside their boiling temper.

Nope.  I can't remember ever losing my temper in the presence of another person.  I'm the type that either bottles it up or else takes it out on an unopened roll of paper towels in private.  lol  I'm also the type who is good at making cutting remarks without losing my temper.

I have.  Twice in twenty five years.  That's not too bad.  Both deserved it and I'll be dipped in sh-t and rolled in rock salt before I would apologize to either of them.

One of them called up the owner of the company all indignant and said, "Did you know your guy called me an a**hole to my face!"

The owner replied, "I've known my guy for fifteen years.  If he says you're an a**hole, then you probably are one."

So, yeah.  Some people cross even the extremely accomodating line of client/provider tolerance.  Some things are worth more than money.

Sometimes I am bluntly honest with a customer.  They receive the same attitude I get.  I honestly do not have a problem with, and have on several occasions told a customer to GTFO.

That is the used car business though the abuse I receive is a lot more then I dish out.
