Thanks for the lesson, but I know where Rome is. However we do not study about Catholic beliefs, since we are not Catholic. If I'm going to study, I study the Bible. Not a doctrine from anyone else. I study the Bible and believe what I believe from reading and studying the Bible myself, nothing any human tells me to believe. I never take a human's word for anything. I go to the Bible for the answers. We do not have a Catholic church in our town or county. So, I guess that's why I am not familiar with the picture you put on your post. Our churches are smaller and not fancy. We don't spend a whole lot on our buildings. Here, there are a lot of people that need clothes and food. Jobs are leaving here fast. And no new ones are replacing them. We feel that feeding and clothing and finding shelter for those people is a more useful way to spend our money and resources. Our church is warm and dry and that's about all we need. Just a place to come together to worship and praise God.

Oddly enough, I never mentioned catholic doctrines or beliefs. I was just telling you where the statue is.

    Very humble of you though.....

    Mark,
you seem to be under the impression that all Christians condem unbelievers to hell. Let me set the record straight.
I love, I cherish, the God given ability to grow in knowledge. Knowledge is nessicary to life and Godliness, it does away with darkness, suspense, and doubt; these things canot exist where knowledge is. In knowledge there is power, and God has more power than all other beings because he has greater knowledge; and hence he has power to subject all other beings to him, and whatever principle of intelligence we obtain in this life, will rise with us in the next.
In the book of John it says, "In my father's house there are many mansions"  it should say "In my father's kingdom there are many kingdoms, in order that ye be joint heirs with me"  Now there are mansions for those who obey a celestial law, and there are mansions for those who come short of the law, every man in his own order.
In the end there is a rightous judgment for all of God's creatures should they choose to follow him or some other path. And there is hope for the dead even after their trials, though they may be given a lesser glory for their unbelief. Still Im not the judge.

So, although you say you are not the judge, you think that there is a "righteous judgment" for all god's creatures. Which presumably includes me? And you are now re-writing the bible to support that view.

Interesting, but useless. Sorry, your opinion as to the fact that I will be judged is of no interest to me. I do not care to have you judge me i n that fashion. You do not have the "authority."

But you are correct on one thing. God cannot exist where knowledge is. I too love and cherish the ability to grow in knowledge, but no god gave it to me. smile

And I gave up using the "ye" form some time ago.

    Mark,
You misread what I said, Knowledge comes from God. I have said this before and all would do good to know that God has created mankind with a mind capable of instruction, and a faculty which may be enlarged in proportion to the heed and diligence given to the light communicated from heaven to the intellect; and that the nearer man approaches perfection, the clerer are his views, and the greater his enjoyments, till he has overcome all evils of his life and lost every desire for sin; and like the ancients, arrives at a point of faith where he wrapped in the power and glory of his maker, and is caught up to dwell with him. But we consider that this a station to which no man ever arrived at a moment.

I read perfectly well what you said.

Knowledge comes from me seeking it. Nothing to do with god. Nothing to do with overcoming evil. Or arriving at a point of faith.

Not sure who you are talking about when you say "we" because this is not what everyone believes.

      You also said

And I am not getting judged by anyone.

    Mark,
I understand that you choose not to believe it, The great designs of God in relation to the salvation of the human family, are very little understood by the professionally wise and intelligent generation in which we live. Various and conflicting are the oppinions of men concerning salvation, the requirements of the almighty, the nessecary preperations for heaven, the state and condition of departed spirits and the happiness or misery that is consiquent upon the practice of rightousness and iniquity according to their several notions of virtue and vice.
While one portion of the human race is judging and condemning the other without mercy, the great parent of the universe looks upon the human family with fatherly care and paternal regard; he views them as his offspring, and without any contracted feelings that the influence of the children of men, causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust. He holds the reigns of judgment in his hands; he is a wise lawgiver, and will judge all men, not according to the narrow contracted notions of men, but according to the deeds done in the body wether they be good or evil.
Those who have lived without lawwill be judged without law, and those who have law, will be judged by the law. We need not doubt the wisdom and intelligence of the great Jehova. he will award judgment or mercy to all nations according to their several desserts, their means of obtaining intelligence, the laws by which they are governed, the facilities afforded them of obtaining correct information, and his instructable designs in relation to the human family; and when the designs of God will be made manifest, and the curtain of futurity be withdrawn, we will all have to confess that the judge of all the Earth has done right.
