    Hi Larry smile

It would be nice to see "Physiology" added beneath "Anatomy" under biology -- or you could combine them as they are often done for freshmen level courses. "Microbiology" would be nice too, as well as "Parasitology"

Under medicine and health sciences where you have Diseases, this might look better as "Infectious Diseases" smile I would also add Cardiology and Oncology to the list.

Thanks for the comments.  :-)  I agree with your thinking.  I'll make the changes that you suggest.

Diseases is a good broad secondary category, third tier would be where it would be narrowed down between infectious and non-infectious diseases, as not all diseases are of the infectious type. wink

I agree with the other suggestions made, though, and larry - cheers on the proposed categories, they look awesome.

Disease as you describe it is covered by Pathology, which is already on that list.

Infectious Disease is a massive area of study worthy of its own 2nd level category and was not covered by that list.

Which makes my suggestion perfectly logical.

I'd like to note that I never stated your suggestion was illogical.  LOL

Disease itself is a broad umbrella, both by definition and usage, however pathology was already on the list (I believe) and does not refer to disease as I was making use of the word.

But eh, midnight's too late for semantics when it's wake-up time in just a few hours.

Larry, are they giving you a nice vacation after all these categories are put together and implemented?  If not, you should totally take one.  http://th106.photobucket.com/albums/m252/RiverIsMyGoddess/icons/th_smiley_ROFL3.gif

Cheers, Larry - a well constructed list.

Only one suggestion. Unless I missed it, the philosophy of science would be useful, under philosophy. smile

You are right.  Philosophy of Science should be added.  :-)

Hey Larry, this could be never ending lol! How do you know when to stop? You'll start to notice that some of the boundaries will start to blur although many (in the field I mean, not here) will hold onto their unique specialities- and so they should. But these are just niches and specialities really and it could go on....there are huge advances in neuroscience at the moment for instance, its constantly unfolding. And 'diseases,' well, infectious and non-infectious are only one category I haven't practised for a few years now but we could add way more...

It might be easier to sort for similarities, rather than differences. Just a thought. :-)

Larry, I forgot to ask if you might include "Slavic" and "Persian" under Lit? Kafka, Kundera, Kayyam, etc. smile
