I completely overhauled what was my best hub that I had just won a hubnugget for last week. It's not built around a very high traffic keyword, but for the main targeted keyword on phrase match search I hold 4 out of the top 10 spots on Scroogle search with the hub being #3 and supporting articles and the like holding the other spots.I also hold 22 other spots in the top 50 all leading back with links in one way or another to my hub.
In other words I am well positioned to capitalize on what little traffic this keyword get's and a also slowly pushing it up for part of the long tail that is searched for more often.
So I stared at it endlessly for hours and finally decided to try and target just Google Ad Sense hits and will be adding a few links from Google Affiliates which I just found out about and am waiting to here back with approval for some items I chose. If they don't seem like they would work well I am not going to use them.
I thought to myself that personally I would probably never buy furniture I've not seen in real life, and been able to touch and sit in, off an online store. I know people do everyday, but my opinion was also the consensus opinion of a small 30 person poll I took of random people I know. I then kept monitoring the adds Google was placing and they were for furniture stores with great reputations that people may feel more comfortable buying from so a possible higher chance of clicks on those adds without the Amazon ads there to distract the reader.
This is the hub I have overhauled.
Armless Living Room Chairs That Will Change Your Life!
What I took away was trying to describe every type of armless chair and I had previously shown Amazon ads for each type. Instead I mention the many kinds in passing and make my recommendation along with the reasons why for the type I feel is the best buy.
Also I added a news feed and an RSS feed of an interior decorating blog, that I had not incorporated before.
I would appreciate opinions not only on my methodology of why I did the overhaul, but also if the end product looks to be a better product to optimize monetarily through clicks.
Thank You!
Benjamin, I looked at your hub and you know what you are doing a great job!!!! 7 weeks and you have that many followers!!! hats off to you. It takes three months to get results, so you are already ahead of most, just keep writing and dont give up! Really your hub is wonderufl just let it season!!!
I have had very little success with amazon myself, google for me after 7 month and 100,000.00 hits is just starting to pay out maybe 5-10 bucks a day and I get over 1000.00 hits a day on hub so as I said patience is everything and content is king!! but the great thing is that it doesnt go away, you get paid for the life of the article! Hope that helps?

In terms of philosophy or theology something like this:X is a mistaken position for reasons A,B,C. This Hub is an example of that position, lets do a point by point dissection of it (while not infringing on copyright) while pointing out the problems in their reasoning. Is that doable? Will it get...

Does anyone have any definitive information on this as the SEO advice is rather mixed. Some say that googlebot looks for keywords in the first sentence. It also relates to the text displayed on the SERP. Of course there may be negatives in terms of keyword stuffing and 'gaming'. I have noticed that...

Do you think it's a good or bad idea to write an opinionated hub on a "touchy" subject?I do not mean offensive, obscene, etc... just strongly opinionated.

I just logged in and it shows every single one of my hubs highlighted in pink, to need review. The majority of these were well trafficked and featured hubs or editor's choice. Did something happen? I tried looking in the questions and forums and didn't see anything. I am not a former Squidoo person...

I'm relatively new to Hubpages, and so far I've published three articles. However, the view numbers are pretty small, and I'd like to increase them. I'm currently writing some more Hubs right now, but any tips that you'd like to share, I'd really appreciate them
