Way to turn the man-on-the-street interview on its ear.
Gotta love Stewart and Colbert. And Second City has given the world some of its all-time funniest comedians.

Thanks for the moment of levity, Diane Inside!

The scary thing is when you see Leno or O'Brien or Letterman doing those kinds of interviews out on the street, they get some really funny answers that show how clueless some people are.

But I did like the Kenyan/Keynesian play. I think the average Joe/Josephine would be hard pressed to define Keynesian on the spot!!!

well to be fair, i don't think majority of america knows a lot about politics; especially young college kids as they were interviewing. wink  lol

So instead of presuming to know what this is wouldn't it be wiser to ask what is it if they did not understand it.

If I don't understand something I ask.  But not these folks and btw not all were college kids.

Even the guy at the end knew what it was and still didn't know Obamas economic stance.

      Really?

well diane, you and i already talked about this.  when it comes to elections its not about what people's stances are on issues, it's how they run their campaign to entice voters. wink

That many people vote on what catches their fancy rather than what is best for the country.

yeah, that's true.  i think it's a crying shame. personally, if more people elected candidates solely on the issues rather than what campaign they run, then i think this country would be a lot better off than where it is now.  therefore, i don't disagree.

That mentality explains Obama.  The majority of people voted on a guy who had no experience, accomplishment, or record in politics and believed his soaring rhetoric only to find out that he's a socialist full of hot air that spent a lot of money and didn't help the economy any.  Madness!

you said it flightkeeper.  heck, we should've saw this coming as the very first few days, he was in office, he was more concerned about changing the bowl system in the ncaa than doing anything about our economy or the current war.

luckily though from what i heard, even some democrats are getting fed up with obama, so hopefully we'll have a new president in 2012.  assuming that the world doesn't end. wink lol

Good grief!  I forgot about the Mayan Calendar... Man, it would really suck if the world ended.  On the other hand, it might be a sign that Obama has god-like qualities that he's always implying.

In my humble opinion people vote based on 2 sad and pathetic things; commercials and mainstream news programs.  Both unreliable and not likely to really be informative on who would be the best candidate.  If people were to make educated decisions they would have to actually watch NON mainstream news, internet information, research past history on the candidates and speak to those well informed regarding politics.  But I find (I laugh as I write this) most Americans spend 0 time doing any of this...I think it is hilarious to watch them spar regarding their preferences when their opinions are based in ignorance.  This goes for both Republicans and Democrats.

You all do realize that those interviews at the Rally to Restore Sanity were fake, right? All part of the "where does reality end and comedy begin" funnin' of Mssrs. Stewart and Colbert.
Just wanting to make sure everyone knows what they were seeing in that clip....

Yes, well steroid use among MLB players was a big deal for Bush, if you recall.
If the world ends between now and 2012 we can blame the Republicans -- since anything and everything that does or does not get fixed between the elections today and 2012 will be on their shoulders, right?

yeah, but no offense mighty mom.  however, if the world does end in 2012, the last thing i'm going to think about is who's to blame for our society. lollol  although you are right, bush did make that a big deal. therefore, i guess that's another reason to point out obama and bush were both bad presidents.  lol.
