Hello, I new here and can't seem to make a unique link under creating a new hub. It will not allow anything I type in to the box.
    Example: http://hubpages.com/thequail1957
Could someone please show me how this is done? Thank you so much for any help received.

I hope this tutorial from HubPages's learning center can explain what's not working for you.

The question is difficult to understand. You already have a unique URL, namely your profile page. You do not have to type in the URL when creating a new hub, instead you type in the title and a URL will be automatically generated for you. Once you have created the hub, there are various methods to generate hyperlinks to other hubs or external websites. If you could clarify exactly what you are trying to do.

If you are talking about a URL for your hub, then you will simply type in the desired title, and the ULR will automatically be generated for you. For example, typing in a title like Best Year Ever will create a URL like: http: //hubpages.com/hub/Best-Year-Ever

If you are talking about your hubber profile URL, then you already have one, namely:

        http://hubpages.com/profile/The+Quail+1957
