One of my recent hubs has identified as "Duplicate". Does that mean duplicate title or duplicate content? I didn't duplicate someone else's work. It is my article. I wrote it.
That would be contents. Titles are not copyright protected and would not raise a flag.
http://hubpages.com/faq/#duplicate_content
While we do allow you to repost content to which you own the necessary rights on HubPages, we do not allow duplicate content to contain any promotional outbound links, and a pattern of publishing Hubs that are also found elsewhere on the web will result in a HubScore penalty. I hope that answers your question.
Please read the FAQs to see whether the problem is that you have duplicated your own work. If you need additional information, you may contact HubPages.

it happened to me, in my case my story is posted in another link associated also with adsense, yes it's my original story but was posted twice in a different location, for example, I posted it in hubpages but they were able to trace that I already posted the same story (though improved and with a different title) in blogspot.com many years ago... I decided to delete the one in my blog. It was inactive anyway....
I informed hubpages about what I did, and once they confirmed it was settled that duplicate mark will be removed...
Thanks for your insights, Maria Cecilia, that is the duplicate content problem in a nutshell.
Thanks, everyone. Now I understand.
Yes, my original article, owned and written by me, is on one of my websites. I am going to do as you did, Maria, and delete it from my blog.
i guess it happens to all of us, a few days ago i wrote a hub, completely unique, as i wrote it myself, i published the hub, and an hour later it also gave the dublicate content warning.
It took me 2 hours of testing and re-writing the article, before it was unique again.
Fact is, that their are a lot of sites and thousends of writers out there.
it might be that you, or anyone else wrote a unique hub, but still ther might be a very related article somewhere else on the web.

Can I post an article to ezinearticles which I have already published in hubpages?
by Thomas Czech 12 years ago
Why does my hub keep saying it is a duplicate? It is my work. I even made many changes many times.I deleted it, rewrote it and tried to publish it again, after having made many changes. Still it says duplicate. It should not say this. It is my work.

Given all the time spend world wide worrying about Panda and Google's poor quality and duplicate content comments, what the hell does this post from GOOGLE themselves mean. Talk about contradictory!http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot. … apers.html

I just had a hub unpublished of course, all the accompanying warnings... Yet, the hub is purely an opinion piece, nothing whatsoever taken from anyone else... So far, this is second, with the same complaint, and it absolutely IS NOT anything but purely organic and original...

The article in question was "Good Title and Caption Ideas for Content Creators". Here is the link to the unpublished page at least showing the url (https://discover.hubpages.com/technology/Caption-Ideas). I published this article on 2-21-22. There is usually a 1 day wait time for...
