True Grit

   I don't normally post anything about movies that I watch, or music that I listen to, but...
   
   I just returned from watching the movie "True Grit," with Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, and Josh Brolin. 
   
   I would highly recommend this movie to any "Western" movie lovers out there.  I would even go as far as recommending anyone who enjoys Jeff Bridges incredible acting skills to see this movie, regardless of the fact that it is a "Western."
   
   Bottom line...great movie, well worth 2 hours of my time!

   The previews look awesome. I'm looking forward to it.
   Jeff is in high demand these days, after the Oscar this past year. But he is a seasoned pro and has earned a lot of respect for just keeping on going. He is a tribute to just continuing on because of the love of his craft.

   Again, the preview looks good, but walking in big John Wayne's boots is a hard act to follow.  There are only a few re-makes that are better than the original...

   Thanks for posting your review. I am looking for a good movie to watch, doesn't seem like there were a lot of good choices this holiday season. I like good Westerns. "3:10 To Yuma" with Russell Crowe and Christian Bale from a few years ago was a great movie.

   If you haven't read the book True Grit, I recommend it.  I read it in high school (a real long time ago) and still remember it and how much I loved it.  The John Wayne version didn't do the book justice at all....but Jeff Bridges and the Coen Bros.  now we're talkin'
   
   It is at the top of my movie list!

   Recently saw this movie and really enjoyed it too. The young girl did an excellent job. It was definitely funnier than I imagined it would be, but very "gritty" in the darker parts of the film. The Coen Bros. don't disappoint.

      Anyone with any intellect will enjoy her emphasis on proper grammar/English usage...especially at such a young age.

    I've been hearing it is really good, so it's on my list to watch even though I'm not usually much of a Westerns fan.
    
    My mom and I went to see The King's Speech a few days ago and I was really impressed with that, too. Much funnier than I expected, and of course the acting was fantastic.

    I haven't read the book, but I've seen both movie versions, and they are both spectacular.  I read that the Cohens were more true to the book, but I enjoyed the John Wayne version just as much.  I don't even like Westerns!  I just like great movies, so I recommend True Grit!
