With the current onslaught of weather disasters occurring around the world,it's becoming easier to now persuade people that we are indeed in the time period immediately preceding the Rapture.
We now have a very short period of time to convince people that their only way out of what will increasingly become a global horror story is to be found in the Prince of Peace rather than following one of world's political gods of war.As the punishments of the Tribulation increasingly kick in,it will become almost impossible for significant numbers of people to dedicate their lives to God because He soon will develop the reputation of an angry and wrathful Creator. Before we reach that spiritual chasm ,one that will cause many of the wealthy mega churches that attract thousands by offering weekly messages extolling God's love and mercy, to collapse into financial ruin; we will be confronted with a series of warning signs that God's patience has to come to an end because of the extremes of not just Christian sin but now increasingly, shocking examples of clerical moral sickness that has crossed the border into sociopath behavior.
That brings us to today's Exhibit A .The following article describes how a minister decided to spend Christmas Eve driving around town trying to "protect the property" of some of her parishioners.
DALLAS (AP) -- A Texas pastor caught by police with a laptop and fur coats said she was protecting the valuables, not stealing them from the home of a parishioners.
Sandy McGriff, co- founder of the Church of the Living God, told The Dallas Morning News on Monday that she used poor judgment when she entered a church member's home through a broken window and removed valuable property.
McGriff faces charges of burglary of habitation and resisting arrest. She posted a $26,000 bond Saturday and was released from the Dallas County Jail.
A neighbor called police, who found McGriff carrying two fur coats out of the home.

This is fear-mongering pure and simple. It is our spiritual lives that will be at stake when the end days and Armageddon begins its seven years. Every persons body will sooner or later die, but our spirit is immortal and will never die. That is what satan seeks.
Religious "gobble-de gook" is funny and those believers who spew it are also ridiculously funny.
They are an entertaining lot but their religious 'sputum" is deadly.
The history of the results of their beliefs is proof of that statement.

those darn Christian invented the nuclear Bomb and everything else that kills and destroys, there will be an end to that one day, some day all the Christians will be gone

Monothiests are going to perpetrate the "self-fulfilling-prophecy" of armageddon.
That catastrophe will not cause the extinction of the human species, but it will "cause" a definite change in human evolution.
Man has been involved in killing it's own kind from the beginning of recorded history.
We are getting better at it every moment of every day.
At this moment in our evolution we are insane.

Psyche:
The story was read by me in the 1st grade.
The teacher explained the word "moral" and then told us what the "moral" of the story was.
I would like you to answer my question, logically and reasonably: "Pls offer a reason for your response: "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!"
Thanks.

I was making an analogy between OP and Chicken Little with the implication that he has insifficient evidence to support his claim of the impending Rapture.
Do you make everyone explain their jokes? It really takes the fun out of it.
Qwark...the sky isn't falling, but the level of garbage and toxins we live in and with is rising. Our denial of the obvious impact we are having on our ecosystem only makes turning off this insane path all the harder. This has come about as a direct impact of our thirst for "forbidden" knowledge, which parade into disaster was led by our "brightest minds", pushing the envelope of our technology beyond it's physical perimeters. OUr knowledge is only exceeded by our hubris, and if you can't see an ecosystem on the edge of chaos, you should go get a coffee, because you really need to wake up.
Hi Psyche:
I guess I was expecting something more "profound" from a "post grad" professional.
"I was making an analogy between OP and Chicken Little with the implication that he has insifficient evidence to support his came of the impending Rapture."
I'm questioning now, the "post grad" claim i.e. "Insifficient" (insufficient)and "... to support his came of the impending Rapture." (I'm sure you meant 'claim?')
Ok, lets go with the "insufficient evidence."
Can you explain why, when you've studied the history and nature of man (I'm sure you have studied anthropolgy, in your pre/post graduate studies) and your studies of the rise of man's "bent" for religious involvement, that you haven't realized that "HE" has a genetically predisposed, psychological need, as earth's prime predator, to kill?
Pls explain why you think man can sublimate his genetic programming into more social and civilized thought and activity during our lifetime.
Can ya do that for us (me)?
Thanks.
Qwark :
The highest level of maturity (see Maslow) involves being able to indulge in a little silliness from time to time. If you want to talk about whether the human species is doomed on some time scale I would recommend a new thread. This one was started by OP to be about "the Rapture"(TM). Which I think is a silly idea and has no evolutionary underpinnings whatsoever. Hence my joke. Have a cookie.
Psyche:
I agree with Maslow.
The comment: "The sky will fall, the sky will fall" in ref to my prior comment was "silly."
Evolutionary "underpinnings" for an eventual reduction in human population exist all about you. :
I am having an oatmeal and raisin cookie with my coffee as we type...:
Qwark
Now I am jealous. I have no cookie. Also if there is a Rapture I suspect I will be left behind. But also that i will be in good company.
Psyche:
Do you remember the original movie called the "Time Machine?"
If you do, do you remember the "Eloi" and the "Morlocks?"
If there is a reduction in human population and you survive the "rapture," you will be one of the edible "Eloi" herd.
lol
The "Morlocks" will provide until the "horn" blows and the "Eloi" are herded into the underground (cattle) pens for slaughter and preparation for the dining table.
In reality, it'll probably much worse than that.
Good luck...:
