Ok, I'm bored. Everyone is gone or in bed already. So, I'm in a dance mix kind of mood.

Currently, I'm looping: Selena Gomez & The Scene's "A year with out rain" and a song by T.A.T.U called "All the things she said."

So, given that tiny bit of musical vectoring, got any dance mix that you think will work with MY TASTE given the evidence/sample provided?

    smile

    This song is AMAZING:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8uPvX2te0I

Dude, hawt naked harmonizing Russian chicks. Really, sans a bottle of Grey Goose to finish off the experience, it doesn't get much better than that.

I'll give you one fact I have determined about my taste: I LOVE chicks harmonizing.

Nothing beats some good harmonizing, male or female....in my book.

    1. Shadesbreath profile image78
Shadesbreathposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Yeah, I love harmony, period.  But, there's just somethign about chick harmony that is better. Maybe it's as simple as me being a guy. I don't know.  I LOVE E.L.O., the BeeGees, hell, even just generic barbershop quartets... but, given them or Abba or any number of contemporary pop slut-letts with synthesizers... yeah, whatever.  smile

Back in the mid-90s I heard an acapella group that was similar of course to a barbershop quartet, but more contempary in sound....OMG it was awesome.

Speaking of which....I saw Huey Lewis and the News in concert back in the 80s and they sang a couple of acapella songs.  The harmony was incredible.

I know this probably isn't something you'll latch on to.....but it's catchy as heck.....and has a good Friday night feel.

Ever hear of Wilson Phillips?  Beautiful female harmonizing.

Otherwise...you may like Grenade or Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars.  I became addicted to these two songs the first time I heard them!

I'm going to check them out right now, Rafini.

KCC, I listened to your link. I like it, although I don't care for country music in general, that one works pretty nicely, especially on Friday night. Good pull.

      1. KCC Big Country profile image84
KCC Big Countryposted 13 years agoin reply to this

I knew you might not like the country music...but it's a more up-beat rockish country song.  And, yes....it had that Friday night feel.  smile

I agree with Rafini....Wilson Phillips is some of the best female harmonizing out there.

In the country genre, She Daisy is one of the best.

That's a good one. I do like that.

But you guys are all chicks. LOL.  YOu keep recommending dude voices. I'm in a chick harmony place atm.

I posted a link to the one that I'm down to now. I just LOVE the pitches.  I never outgrew that 7th grade thing where I just play one song over and over a zillion times. I'm 44 and still do that all the time. Last summer, I wrote a novel (100,000 words over 8 or 9 weeks) to TWO songs, Lady Gaga's "Alejandro" and Within Temptation's "Mother Earth."  lol. Over and over the whole time. Days of one, then days of another. smile  How anal is that?

hmm, that was a nice song you posted. I like it.

well, there are always the pop monsters, Britney, you've heard her new one? but it only sounds decent if you download the final version. there aren't any decent youtube recordings. or you can listen to misha's stuff. wink

LOL...that's pretty bad.   "Alejandro" always gets stuck in my head once I hear it.   Another song that does that is "Do You Know the Way to San Jose?"...LOL

You could have, except NONE of them translate to actual itunes songs. Your links aren't the same ones. I swear.

So, just to try to salvage ONE of these amazing songs...

    how do I get this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqaNsOli … re=related

Ur link does NOT go to this song anywhere on itunes.

Anyway, I hope you can get that one pinned down for me. It's late, so I'm going to head up to bed. Maybe if I wake my wife up, she'll be in the mood. smile Thanks for a fun musical diversion tonight, even if it ends up I can't support any of these artists. (a shame).

Ummm, that's weird - cause they did show pages that seem like they have downloads for me. I don;t have itunes, so I could not really check if they work though. OK, just in case here are the names: Vera Brezhneva, Valeriy Meladze, Tina Karol. Good luck searching smile

Found em... some anyway.  The one I really wanted is on iTunes as: "Sladko - Harchenko (Remix)" by Serebro

The Vera Brezhneva song is called "Nirvana"

and I got a wad of other stuff. So thanks. I just made about a 20 song library of Russian music. What a joyous discovery and addition to my music collection... and I'll be getting more and more. Thanks a ton, Misha!!!

I liked some if the Russian stuff! Here is some Greek pop music smile

Despoina Vandi is good fun - you will have to skip past the 'Greek Idol' crap at the beginning. I saw her play live, in Sparta, but the restraining order stopped me from going within 200 metres of the stage big_smile

Elena Paparizou is pretty good, too:

    "Unwritten"

I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined
I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you
    Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
    Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
    Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
    The rest is still unwritten

    Oh, oh, oh

I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines
We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way

Staring at the blank page before you
    Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

So close you can almost taste it
    Release your inhibitions
