I have a blog at igoogle. I'm going to write a bunch of articles related to my hub articles.
Is it better to link from igoogle back to hubpages, or link from hubpages back to igoogle?
Or should I do reciprocal links?
Thanks
What do you want to achieve?
Don't do reciprocal links because Google discounts those. You have to choose to link one way or the other. Which is more important to you?
If you want your blog to do well, then link from your Hubs to the blog. If your main objective is to make money from your Hubs, link from your blog to your Hubs - but as your blog presumably has few readers, don't expect the links to count for much.
You should go both ways, I think (that is, links from hubs to blogger, and the other way round, where relevant and helpful), but blogger has very heavy spam filters, so you should not have too many links in any one post, or too many posts with links to any site.
Basically, you need to have real content on it or it will be deleted.
Also, don't put anything on blogger that is really important to your business, because there are no guarantees it will remain up.
That is interesting...haven't heard of this...I link both ways .. write related articles with different keywords and link them. one link to each site... I hope that is okay!
i found blogger very risky, since a lot of people get their blogs deleted and categorize as spam. Sometimes not all are and google takes very very long to restore the blog!
I have to admit some of my blogs on there are pretty low quality and I have never had a problem, I think you need to be obviously spamming/duplicating content for Blogger to kick you out.
There were three main problems with blogger, back in the days:
1. Competitors
Certainly, a year or two back, they went through a phase where if you were ranking really high, all a competitor had to do was put a spam report on your website... and if enough people pressed the button, the blog was automatically taken down.
2. Blogfarms
People would go along, posting an entirely harmless legitimate blog, and then bam! one day it was taken down by blogspot. The reason? Some... person... had copied the content of an honest blog, and duplicated it on dozens of other blog spot blogs, only with their own adverts and often porn or hacking, or other illegitimate subjects... and all the blogs were taken down... including the honest one and,
3. Affiliate links
Google went through a phase of taking down clickbank and other affiliate blogs, if they had too many external links, or looked too spammy particularly if they were in spammy niches like 'make money soon' or... health... etc.
Now, in general, if you were a honest blog owner, the website was eventually restored... but, maybe after it had been off line for a week, and lots of pages deindexed in google as a result.
Now... maybe they have sorted out these problems? But I have been pretty wary of blogger since then.
On the other hand, blogger probably ranks as well as hubpages, and lets you keep 100% of the adsense, so it has some very strong advantages.
Very informative keep posting ... any other info that you think fit... I am learning... and so could others..
Thank you , ThomasE I really do appreciate the knowledge sharing.
Thanks, everyone, for the great advice. In the next few days I'll use these ideas and implement them into my hubs.
Reciprocal links are not bad, they still have a benefit, but they have less benefit than a one way link.
.
Based on recent events I’ve concluded that quality doesn’t matter anymore…
Just venting.

I have a personal blog, and I was wondering if it's a good idea to write a post where I add reference links to my hubpages articles? Is it a good SEO practice or a bad idea? thanks

Is a link to my own blog considered an affiliate link? I want to link from a Hubpages article I am writing to an article on my blog that further describes what I am writing about in the article.

I started using this blogging link to send my own hubs out of the hub nest. Soon, as I was going to make comments for my friends list I ended up reading other good hubs and decided to share theirs on my blogs too. Then the blog idea started evolving to help promote more reads and...

All,I would like to generate more traffic to my Hubs from outside sources, as it is my understanding that these are the folks that are more likely to 'click.' Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your reading my Hubs, too, but just want to add a bit more into the mix.Could someone please make a...
