With such an infinite variety and combination of different food and drink,  why do so many people choose to eat and drink the same thing over and over again?

Does what we eat reflect our personality?

You are what you eat. True?

Just recently learned the effects of food and drink on mood. Mood is affected more by the stomach than the brain.

So then we can conclude; Are thoughts are what we eat?

Just some things I have been pondering lately.  Seems like my brain has been flooded with new thoughts lately,  ,..
probably has something to do with that homemade ginger ale....

      > Why do so many people choose to eat and drink the same thing over and over again?

Many people find comfort in routine, repetition and stability.

It's safe - easier to stick to what you know, then to go out and venture and try something new and different - this is true in every avenue of life.

      > Does what we eat reflect our personality?

It may give some hints i.e.

People that eats the same stuff over and over again are often those who seek stability.

People who never eat the same thing twice in any given week are often those with a sense of adventure.

People who eat 'healthy' foods are often bright and enjoy an active lifestyle

People who over-consume junk foods are often lazy and lead a sedentary lifestyle

      etc.

      > Are thoughts are what we eat?

Thoughts are a product of the brains work, but what we eat gives us energy and energy is required for thought to occur.

Good nutrition does tend to feed good thought.

I love foods of all kinds.  I especially love seafoods, but I'm not growing any gills that I can see.

I think the foods we eat are a reflection of our simplicity or depth.  Some eat simply to satisfy a hunger and others eat to enjoy.  I'm for culinary delights and enjoying food preperation and eating fine foods.  I'm also for sharing a good meal with someone I care about.  Family, friends and new acquaintences are good reasons to prepare and share a fine meal.

As for psychology, I am usually in a happy outgoing mood when there is good healthy and tasty food on my table.  It certainly has an ability to change your moods in that way.

      Just my simple thoughts. :-D

I'm so impressed by your post that now I have to follow you and your hubs.  At least I can say that even though I do stick to a mostly similar diet, I'm always willing, and have always been willing to try most anything.

what we eat does not not represent our personality but it only reflects our outward appearance.

    Hi, Dennis

I must be very lucky in that I very rarely eat anything that I have ever eaten before, or at least prepared precisely the same way. I experiment daily, trying to improve on past creations and increase and enhance both the flavour and the presentation, as well as to come up with entirely new concepts.

For the past few years, food has been a big part of my job as well as my life. For many years prior to that, however, food and creating dishes with the fish I caught, the rabbits and whatever else I obtained and even the raw ingredients I bought from supermarkets was a form of stress relief from a high pressure job. A couple of hours spent in the kitchen at night blew the stress and cobwebs of the day away and has stood me in good stead.

It goes back even further than that, however, to my childhood, when I was lucky enough to be taught how to fish, how to hunt and how to enjoy and make the most of the raw and natural ingredients which we are so lucky to have all around us.

Perhaps that is why I can honestly hold my hand on my heart and state that I have never once in my life tasted certain burger creations which hundreds of millions of people the world over eat daily. Nor have I ever had the desire to...
