Okay, so maybe I'm missing something but here's what's going on:
I got all signed up with Amazon, have a user name, getstawriyous-20, and all of that. My account has been approved, life is good on that end.
I go to the Affiliate Settings page and click Edit next to Amazon and get nothing. According to the swell instructions page there should be a place to enter my Associate ID and there isn't. No fields whatsoever. But I click OK just in case Amazon did all of that for me when I entered my page information and it says Active next to Amazon.
FANTASTIC! But I went back later and it says Not Set again. HELP!! How do I get my Amazon account and my Hubpages account linked if there is no where to enter my ID?
1. Go to the affiliate page http://hubpages.com/my/affiliate
2. Click "edit" next to Amazon
3. Enter your affiliate id for amazon
4. Click "ok"
That should do it. When you add amazon capsules to your pages, your affiliate id will be automatically rotated into the links for tracking.
Ummm......no. Please re-read my post. The part where it says there is nowhere to enter my affiiate ID for Amazon. I followed those steps exactly and there is nowhere to put my ID. So, now what?
This is actually becoming very annoying since it looks like I'm getting quite a bit of traffic to my Hubs but my Amazon account isn't linked and my Google ads aren't working (which is a separate issue I'm taking up with them)....
You should be able to paste it next to the "ok" and "cancel" buttons. It's just an empty white field.... (I'm sorry I'm not much help, I don't know much about it, I just figured I'd give you the courtesy of the response, since I can only imagine how frustrated you are...)
Thank you, Maddie. A few more details in the instructions would have been great, considering it was a white field on a white background. *shrug*
There should be a blank space under the "Affiliate Code" column (to the right of where it says "Amazon" and to the left of the "Status" column). Just click on the blank space and paste in the code.
I had trouble with it at first too, so I hope that helps. There is a box that shows up, I think after you click on the space--but it isn't super visible.
Good luck.
And, I posted this without seeing your last post, so I bet you figured it out already!

Hi all. I have set up Amazon Affiliate program on hubpages and featured Amazon products on a number of my hubs. Looking at it after a while, the link-type report in the Amazon account shows that no one has clicked on the products so far. I wanted to know whether this actually works, so I clicked on...

I recently opened a second HP account and, following directions from HP, signed it up for Amazon. Eventually I made one sale (for $100, darnit!) and found that it was credited to a totally separate Amazon account which will mean that the total sales will not be added together to determine the...

Hi everyone. I just started here and put Amazon affiliates on my hubs. I already have an account for my blog, however I set up a new tracking ID. The problem is even though I have had over 50 views on my 3 hubs when I go to Amazon I have zero impressions. Any clues as to...

From your own article...I have a unique case. In one of my articles, I recommemd a natural supplement that is good for joints. This product works for me. It is something I use myself. In this article, I have an Amazon link to this product. When I ran out, and time to reorder, is it allowed for me to...

*apologies if in the wrong sub-forum*It's a very very simple question. I'm not supposing the answer is equally simple. I'm kinda hoping that if an answer is forthcoming, no one is (HP team/hubbers) going to say 'if you don't like it you can pack up and go'. Enforcement coupled with high-handedness...

Just a report of a possible glitch in the new program. I signed up, I think, on the 16th of the month, and the 17th shows two shipments. The 18th also shows a shipment, so the system is working. The 18th also shows a sale, and shipment of that sale, in my Amazon account - something that...
