Online strategy after the recent Google changes

   Everyone say that to succeed the most important factor is diversification. But I have all my content in Hubpages. I love hubpages and am confident that it will bounce back after the recent Google updates. But I am also a bit concerned that what if things improve but never get back to their original levels. Can you suggest what I need to do as it is important for me to succeed online but finding all this a bit stressful and depressing as I am novice in the online world.

      The basic strategy remains the same.  Getting your stuff online requires a means of publishing and Hubpages is one of the best ways of doing this - with the most helpful and in-depth advice.
      
      Just concentrate on getting your Hubs well written and working properly and leave the big thing to the pages, if they can't find the way through the current mini-crisis then I doubt if running around the intenet will help.  You should concentrate on gettinga sound portfolio of hubs here and then maybe do the same on another similar site and so on.

         I don't know what is semaphore in relation to websites, but virtually anything goes - as long as it belongs exclusively to you. As Terry noted, the easiest is Wordpress.

      I wholeheartedly agree with Misha. Buy a domain name, buy your hosting and put on a Wordpress blog. Start adding content to your blog, backlink to it and build it up to quite a substantial offering.
      
      Monetise the blog with whatever you can without going overboard.
      
      Build traffic. Traffic = clicks and clicks = money.

   That is certainly great idea and I have been thinking over it for the last month or so. But as I am a newbie in the online world I have a number of challenges like finding a good domain registration company, good web hosting company, finding a profitable niche and good affiliate programs.

      Finding a profitable niche should be easy for you by now.  Just look at your existing Hubs and see which ones are making the most profit (or at least, were making money before the change).
      
      Don't stress too much about finding the perfect registration company/hosting company. A lot of Hubbers use Hostgator, which may not be the best but it's easy to use and cheap, so it's as good a place as any to start.  Plus if you get stuck setting up your site (which you will!), their help desk really is helpful - and they'll help via live chat, so you don't have to worry about international telephone calls.
      
      Check their deals - sometimes you can get a domain name thrown in with your first year's hosting. 
      
      Build your site using Wordpress. 
      
      As for affiliates - pick your topic first, then Google for affiliates.  For instance, when I started my dance blogs, I just googled "dance affiliates" and that got me started.
