So, the library I go to is a part of a network of libraries in the Eastern Mass area. Because of that, I can use my library card to get online at any of those libraries.
Each library has a different Internet policy, but if you were to ask the librarians, (which someone made the mistake of doing early this week at the Salem Library) they would likely not know about the policy of the other library.
That said, I want to write a series of articles about each library's Internet policy and how to get access to the Internet there. Unfortunately, I only know the policies of the libraries I've been to. This is where the rest of Hubpages comes in.
I think it would be great if say, people from New York City, wrote about the Internet policy of the libraries there. And maybe people from London, Manchester, and Birmingham could write about the policy in those libraries.
See where I'm going with this?
And in a follow up hub that ties all of these hubs together, I'm planning out a "Internet in Public Etiquette" guide to address some of the issues I've found are common when using the library for Interent acess.
It's a great way to increase the number of quality hubs. And it's a subject that I'm sure people will be searching for. Everyone gets a link that readers can follow to their hub accounts.
There's a lot of positive perks to this idea. So does it sound like something anyone would be interested in helping out with?
Hi
I come from Leicester UK which is about 40 miles from Birmingham and a large multi cultural city. I am in the library on Wednesday and I shall see what they have to say
That'd be awesome. It's really about educating travellers and locals about the best place to get Internet acces. Which libraries are the most hassle free and personal experiences with the staff and the policies there.
I look forward to hearing from you.
I like your idea. I could write a few on libraries in Ontario. I assume the Internet policies will be on their websites.
True, but what I'm aiming for is your observations. The policy will probably be on the website yes, but my main focus is, Do you have to have a library card? How many minutes per session are you allowed? If you ask the librarians for help, are they communicative or are they difficult to approach?
If library patrons could leave comments on your hubs, that would help the libray staff improve their service and it increases traffic to your hub page, I would think. It'd be a like a free customer service survey.
Let me get my "Public Internet Etiquette" hub up and then I'll post a general format for the Library articles here in the forum thread. That way people will get the idea that everyone is working together on this.
please do that, i was pointed in the direction of the internet- which is easy for me but if you have not got it to start with?
My librarian said that most policies would have very similar characteristics as there was only so much you could talk about.
E mail me when you publish your hub and I can see what you are doing!

Hi, everyone you might want to check the internet for your work. I've now found 3 of my articles on Facebook sites, Pinterest and on a blog site. I am not sure I can post the name here. They seem to have stolen a few articles I have read on here. If you have medical or heal dove pages some have...

Okay, so it's be a few years since I've published on HP. Life happened and things went by the wayside. I still get a random $50-100 per month in payouts and log in randomly to keep my account active. I've started my blog back up and considered starting writing more on HP... until I took a look at...

Is anyone else afraid of adding summaries to their hubs?In general, my hubs that have a summary do not do as well as my hubs that do not have a summary. All of my best hubs do not have summaries. I know it is suggested to add a summary to every hub but this makes me afraid...

Is anyone else getting traffic from this site?nativeapp.toutiao.comI am getting traffic from it but I am not sure what the site is or if it's a new search engine of some kind. I do know it has something to do with a Chinese application. So I am wondering if this is a good or bad thing.
