So I have been trying to research SEO tips and there are just so many! I would like to know some tips that are used by my fellow hubbers that actually work for them. Please let me know if you have any tried and true SEO tricks up your sleeve - I will be eternally grateful.
    Thank you!!

A simple SEO trick works for me. Before starting any new hub I make a keyword research via adword suggestion tool. I try to find a low competition and popular long tail keyword. Once I find something that looks catchy, I use it in the title of my hub.
Sometimes it works and I get to 1st page in Google an hour after submitting my hub, but sometimes I need to Digg my hub and submit the link to some social media like Facebook, Twitter and StumbleUpon before appearing in the 1st page.

      Good luck!

The Google keyword tool gives you advertiser competition NOT keyword competition.  If you want reliable adsense earnigns you want to be looking for a niche that shows HIGH competition in the Google keywords tool.

Digg and Stumble are also not SEO techniques, they may get you some traffic, but no direct SEO benefit.

I know that if I spin articles about some keyword nonsense that I really know nothing about - then my article will suck because I don't really know what I'm talking about, I'm just trying to make a dollar.

People researching high pay per click ads as related to what keywords bring them is what has destroyed the ranking of this site, and every other content site on the internet.

SEO tip?  Write about what you know most about - and then you'll gain authority in that niche, or niches.  That's the best tip for the new Google.

I have had my Hubpages account for awhile, but have been writing for upfront pay and have neglected my HP account. I have written for residuals and ad revenue on eHow before they discontinued that program and I usually choose exact long tail keyword phrases with 500 exact searches or less with less than 10,000 competing search results for that exact search phrase. Also, be sure and write at the minimum 1000 words, using the exact keyword phrase in the url, title, first paragraph, and summary. Use related words throughout the rest of the article. Writing this way has landed my writing on the first page of Google search results, even after the recent changes. Hope this helps. I am going to put writing for upfront on the back burner for the time being, because my goal in the long term is to earn passive, residual income from writing, which brought me back to HP. I like choosing my own topics and I like the freedom of choosing what article format I write in. I also like the fact that HP offers the ability to earn from Amazon, Adsense, and the HP Ad Program. It was either Hubpages or a Blogger blog, and I chose Hubpages. It will be my own little fun experiment. I just haven't enjoyed writing for upfront pay for quite some time. I have lost my passion for writing on topics that others assign to me. So, here's hoping for the best. : )

90% of the SEO work comes from writing something people will want to read. You can't polish a turd.

It might be worth going back to basics.  SEO means search engine optimization, a.k.a. how to get traffic from search engines.  Basically you have to use words people are searching for but relatively few websites are using--and get other sites to link to you. This is only a small part of the techniques needed to turn words on the screen int money in your pocket.

SEO is the same, what it used to be 10 years ago, provided you are a white hat optimizer.Stick to white hat, have patience and you will have a long term monetary gains!
    - keyword research
    - unique content
    - backlinks

Yes, back to basics is the key. Provide Relevant Information and your site(s) will do well. I'm new to HP but not SEO and the basics still provide my clients with excellent long term results.

Look at your website as though it's a shop; people won't come in unless it looks good so design is important.  People won't buy from you if they don't buy into what's in your shop so make sure that your copy reads well and is not spammy with keywords, and that it shows people that you have what they are searching for.  And lastly, people visit shops that they know other people would recommend so get as many backlinks as possible to prove to search engines that you're relevant and worthy of a good ranking!
