    Hi there!

Could someone please tell me if it's possible to edit your hub (add more links or information) in order to boost your hubscore without decreasing it?

    Thanks

It's quite reasonable to edit hubs in order to refresh them, improve them, make corrections and generally tweak them.  Hubscore as a measure of anything is overrated in my opinion.  Unless you hit a 100 there is no visible change in traffic.

Thanks a lot for your reply. The reason I'm asking is because I read up that you won't really get search engine recognition without a hubscore of 75 or over and mine are at 74 so I was hoping to edit them in order to make 75 at least

Hi Jade.  I missed this.  I believe the score they refer to is your author score, not your individual page or hub score.  My average across 130 odd hubs is about 72.  So I have loads less than the magic 75.

That makes a lot of sense. I will try to concentrate less on the score and more on the articles. Thanks Mark

Not true.  Your HubScores and HubberScore make absolutely no difference to your search engine traffic.  They have absolutely nothing to do with making money, either.

You only need to worry about them if you're using your Hubs to promote your websites or blogs.  If your score is under 75, any links you've put in your Hub to your website or blog become "no follow", which means search engines ignore them.   But the score has no effect on the Hub itself.

Mark is correct in both of his posts.  A hubber score of 100 will nearly always result in increased traffic...BUT it is all from hubbers.  Most likely they don't care about what you are saying but, falsely assuming you are really really good, in how your are saying it.  The search engines providing organic traffic neither know nor care what the artificial score assigned by HubPages is.

If your hubber score falls below 75 any outgoing links in your hubs become no-follow.  If a particular hub score falls below 40 any links in that one hub become no-follow.

Ok. If I'm correct what you're saying is that if my hubber score is above 75 i don't need to worry about what my individual hub scores are as they won't affect my traffic in anyway?

You don't need to worry Jade. And looking at your writing you don't need to worry.  Perhaps a few more words, improve the design, maybe a picture, headings, bullet points - just little suggestions that's all.  Look at people's hubs that you like the look of, iyswim and take it on from there.

Of course.  I often post a basic hub then improve and update it with time.  The hubscore tends to go up the more I add.

      Thanks for the reply.
Do you mean the more information you add or the more links?
Also, can it decrease after I edit it or only stay the same or increase?

It can do anything.  Let's assume you are adding more content, revising keywords, perhaps an exra picture or two, and maybe a choice link.  Then the score might go up.  Or it might go down.

        Try this instead.

Are you making the page a better experience for the reader?

Then who cares about the score?

          That's actually worth thinking about.
Thanks a lot for your help smile
