I visited my Google earnings page today, and had a message reading as  follows:

    "Recommendations:
Add the +1 button to your pages.   Adding the +1 button to your pages allows users to recommend your content to friends and contacts on Google search.  As a result, you could get more and better qualified traffic."

This was followed at the other side of the screen by a button that said "get the code snippet."

Is this something we can even do here on HP????  If so, where would we place said code?

It's in the queue (and has been since it was announced a few weeks ago). smile

I was wondering, too--- but I really think it is for a whole site, or for you if you have your own site.

    Someome will clarify, hopefully.

Adding the +1 button is something the engineers of HP has to add. The question is are they going to actually implement it? There have been a couple of threads talking about it already, however, so far there hasn't been a yes or no, either way from staff. wink

I think it has been added to  the HubPages site-- can't remember where I saw this... Facebook?  Maybe you can check it, Cagsil.

If HP has added Rochelle, they haven't said one way or the other.

If you have external websites, blogs or such, then you might be able to add it to those. wink

Has anyone with their own blogs learned yet if it is worth adding it? I added it to two of mine and all I see is that it slows down the loading time of the page.

I've put it on my sites and I do believe it is worth it since it took me about 5 minutes to add it and people are actually +1-ing it. Too soon to see if it's brought in more or less traffic, though.

    Hmmmm......

Well...I wouldn't want to slow down the page loading on HP--it is already about THE slowest-loading site of any I visit.

I've put the +1 button on all my sites. And all the other big rev share sites had added it. The staff were all excited about the rel=author tag, but they're being very quiet about the +1 button.

But you are saying 'sites', not hubs, right?

Yes. As we can't place any code on Hubpages, we can't add it. The programmers will have to.
