ok so i posted a hub about the quality of the games released on consoles in recent years last week. So now i put this question to you: What is your favorite games console of all time and why?
Personally mine would be the Nintendo 64 because of the range of games and some of the classics that are still fun now such as Goldeneye, Mario Kart 64 and Banjo & Kazooie. great gams to grow up to.
Personally, SNES would probably be my favourite of all time. Chrono Trigger is possibly one of the best damn games ever made, and there were plenty of other good Japanese RPGs on the console, too - Secret of Mana, early Final Fantasy games, and so on. N64 would be close second if only because of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask - though, I loved Golden Eye and Mario Kart, too.
Currently, Xbox 360 would be my favourite - though, that's really only because it's the one that I happen to have. Most of the games I like are available in other places. I don't put all that much stock in the idea that one format of gaming is somehow inherently better than others - espiecally since it's mostly the same games. Hell, the only franchise I can think of that might still be Xbox exclusive is Halo, and I don't even like Halo.
I was a massive fan of the NES and the original Super Mario Bros 1, 2, and 3. Not only that, but they had the Simpsons games, TMNT, etc. That was my childhood.
not to mention pac man, mega man, metroid, castlevania. genisis was mr favorite altered beast, joe montana, sonic
I was a fan of the gameboy advanced, not so much for the console, but there were a number of titles on that portable console that i enjoyed,
As for modern consoles i have always been partial to the Xbox 360 because of its online features, the game play in some of the FPS titles is great with a few whiskys
Anyway, i am just rambling interesting posts so far ^_^
I'm a forty something mom and I've only been gaming for about 5 years. I love my Xbox 360 for the RPG game titles I can play. My family bought a Wii this past February and we like the sports challenges on this console. My main problem is I don't know which games to spend hard earned money on. I have a membership at GameStop and get their magazine, but feel like it's geared toward men. Mainly because most of the games they preview are shooters, (which I personally despise) or some other blood and guts aliens, zombie creatures massacre. Don't get me wrong, on the PS 2 my favorite games were Balders Gate and Champions of Norrath. I also like the later Final Fantasy games, Oblivion, The Last Odyssey and The Last Remnant. I tend to like the medieval age, swords and armor thing.
I love the retro Sega Mega Drive, I used to own one in the old days and was a big fan of Mortal Kombat Game. I recently bought one from car boot sale to sell it on ebay but I am keeping it instead as it brings back the old memories. Now days I am a fan of Nintendo DSi, I have a kid and I think this is a suitable console for young generation. Thanks.
i'd have to say the original xbox. although iv been a gamer for 15years, when i first played Halo 1 on the xbox, it made me want to play more ad really got me into gaming. the gameboy colour will always be remembered fondly aswell after taking everywhere with me and using it so much
I have to take the N64. If you look at the list of its best games there are so many that were simply ground breaking and considered amongst the best of all time. The Ocarina of Time and Majoras mask should be enough on their own!
Goldeneye, Mario 64, Perfect Dark, Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, Donkey Kong 64....the list goes on....

Blizzard Entertainment knew Diablo III would be a hit, and they could also see it as "an unworthy attempt of a sequel" (dubbed by some players). The franchise has been a must-have for any RPG gamer who's looking for a bit of HeXeN thrown into their top-down fantasy game. But what do you...
