Does your day-to-day life drastically change when Summer ends?

   Even though I don't (can't) spend a lot of time doing "vacation things" all Summer, my days tend to be less busy (often more because other people I deal with are on vacation).  And even though I don't have little kids in school, somehow the start of the school year still feels different because, for the most part, things get busier for me. 
   
   So, the question/discussion I thought might be good here is the one in the title of this thread.  Also, who likes to see things "get back to normal", and who hates to see Summer end?
   
   As for me, I've been on a very slow time over the last, maybe, five weeks or so.  I'd have thought I would have been bored.  Turns out, I kind of hate getting working again.

   Summer here in Australia feels like one big holiday...even when you are at work! I guess it's because for us it is Christmas time too. I enjoy the end of Summer tho because the heat is often unbearable. We had days and days in a row last year of well over 40c (about 110f I think).
   But I do know what you mean. My kids are not school age yet but when the kids go back to school it feels like the end of holidays for all of us!

         we have 4 terms with 2 weeks break in between altho summer is a 6 week break. The school year starts early Feb and ends late Dec

   Yes, mine TOTALLY changes.  In fact, I usually go through a little depression when the kids go back to school since I stay home with them.  We do have a lot of fun in the summer-time.  It seems I just get into the summer groove and the acceptance that I'm not going to get ANY work done when it abruptly ends. 
   
   Then I begin doing all the volunteer work I do at the school...  I head up the Art Literacy program which takes a lot of time.  And then there's the dreaded homework helping, sports chauffeuring, reading logs, field trip assistants, etc...
   
   I am looking forward to having free time again to work and write.  But, I'm simultaneously sad to see it end next week.
