I have gotten several emails today, which are from when a user follows me. In the emails it explains a little about the person following me and gives and link to their profile.

    However, the urls are broken.

The urls do not contain HubPages.

An example of how the urls are set up in the email is:

I have forwarded one such email to the HP team and will reference this forum post. This is in case I'm crap at explaining the problem.

Our apologies.  It looks like several users mistakenly received some emails today at 3pm.  We are looking into it right now.

Yes I did too. And not only were the links broken, they were names of people who were already following me before.

Same here - got a new follower and the link simply had http://profile/[user] as the link.

I have gotten 4 of those emails today, but all from users who already follow me. And yes, my links are broken as well. I thought it was some sort of spam or virus at first...

I've noticed some strange problems with Followers and e-mails today.  In reporting or asking about it, I tried to be efficient, combining two topics in one thread - but, anyway, it's here:

      Aficionada,

I believe that the issues with follower emails being erroneously sent was a glitch that occured yesterday and was promptly fixed.  It shouldn't happen again.

Ah, this thread explains why someone who was following me sent me a mail saying my stuff had got really rubbish and they didn't want to follow me anymore.

    Just a programming glitch.

    Phew.

      Are you serious Mark?

I had the Follow glitch happen to me the other day but was too tired to report it.

        No.

        Just trying to be 'funny'.

That's probably why they stopped following.

there are a couple of followers I have who change their mind from time to time. They follow me, stop, and then follow me again. bizarre.

Another Hubber mentioned that same issue:
