Should the Dollar and the Euro be combined to create the new world currency? Making the old currency wortless? It could be called the Doluro!
Heavens, no.
The last thing we want to do is get more financially tangled up with them than we already are.
No no no you don't want anything to do with them dirty Europeans!
Now now I am one, would you coose sterling instead!
Actually, I am quite fond of you guys. But I think there is going to be an apocalyptic, financial crash and burn in your neck of the woods within 5 to 10 years. And we are already tangled up enough that it will probably throw the U.S. into a major depression as well.
There are 3 rich nations China, India and Germany these are the countries that we borrow from to buy the goods they are selling, I think as far as economics is concerned new bomb shelters are needed, probably buy one from them. 'Is the sun going down on the great western empire'
So do I, and I think it is going to happen sooner than you think.
Living within an area of the European monetary system, I look around and I see politicians (did I mention I hate politicians) spending money they haven't got to spend.
Not on goods or services that are any use to the public, but on things like fountains and flower beds in public areas (formerly parking areas) and new houses for themselves, of course.
An article on the BBC website the other day, mentioned that in the parts of Spain that changed their political allegiance at the last elections, they now find that their councils not only have no money, but that they cannot raise the money to pay public service workers.
In one locality, the entire police force have gone on the sick.
They are not, by law, allowed to strike, but they haven't been paid for 4 months since the elections in May!
While this is sort of thing is true for Spain, Portugal, Greece and God knows where else, the European Community Monetary Fund is still being propped up by productive countries like Germany, and dare I say UK even though they are not part of the monetary system.
It has reached crisis point.

WHY are we helping to bail out Greece when we're broke? I mean, I feel sorry for the Greek citizens, but can we really afford this right now?

What will it take for USA to realize we need to start minding our own business?Wouldn't this be the simplest solution to all the issues with other countries? I hate to sound cold hearted but if they want to kill their neighbors it's none of our business. Why not just work towards being 100%...
