What is to be the Role of "Muse"icians in the New Era?

I read the other day in a document by José Argüelles,
in his interpretation of Mayan prophesy that
the role of Muses in the world will be
expanded to take on a diplomatic capacity.
He claims that by indications in the glimpses
shed by the Mayan records, arbiters of the coming
innovative system of government will be accompanied
by what seem to be "muses"(1) be them dancers, musicians,
and other performers of the arts...

    In his own words:

"Exchanges will be set up between representatives of different groups, effecting cultural as well as informational and economic cross pollination.  Voyaging under the banner of the great solar being, the traveling economic arbiter teams will be joyously accompanied by minstrel bands, artistic groups assisting in the planetary cross breeding.

"Chronicles of lyric beauty and epic proportion will spontaneously unfold through daily collective attunement.  And at the market, theatre, dance, and song will enliven the exchange of information and goods carried on by the merchants of light…"

    Do you have any thoughts
to help shed some light on this
glimpse of a possible future (in preparation)?

    (1):
    verb (used with object)

    to meditate on.

to comment thoughtfully or ruminate upon--
chew over, contemplate, excogitate, meditate, mull

( sometimes lowercase ) the goddess or the power regarded as inspiring a poet, artist, thinker, or the like.

    — noun
Greek myth  any of nine sister goddesses, each of whom was regarded as the protectress of a different art or science. Daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, the nine are Calliope, Clio, Erato, Euterpe, Melpomene, Polyhymnia, Terpsichore, Thalia, and Urania

    Origin:
1300–50; Middle English musen  to mutter, gaze meditatively on, be astonished < Middle French muser,  perhaps ultimately derivative of Medieval Latin mūsum

Seem to me that DJ's will also be included in this
body of people known as "muses"...

Without a doubt, the dancers (fire and body),
    storytellers, poets, musicians (of instruments)
all of these are obviously amongst the muses,
the DJ's, though, many would wonder about.
If anyone has experienced the live set
of a very skilled DJ, they will see
that these are also amongst the
    "inspirers" by this name.

I have seen this happening already,
having run with many tribes of innovators
    refreshing culture through electronica parties...

What appears to be the story that is unfolding
is that what we see as "Burning Man" culture
and the many other movements of music
    involved with culture and economics,
    "The Autonomous Mutant Festival"
    is another good example...
these could be the beginnings of
what José Argüelles is explaining to us
as what he gleaned from the hints of the Maya.

I have also been envisioning the fusion of this culture
with the use of real instruments and performance art
in a way that will become the social norm...
as we see this culture gaining in popularity,
seems to be taking on a life of its own anyway--
outside of the mediated control of governmental entities.

This is what we term, so far, as the underground...
but not for long as signs indicate.

I am seeing now that something like
The EarthLight project will become a
demonstrative key aspect to this group...
which, by today's limited views, would appear
as a traveling gypsy carnival.  If prophesy comes
to be future reality, we will be returning to a
medieval social system where it was
the minstrels that were the bringers
of news and inspirations to the peoples...

        EarthLight Vision Statement

We shall utilize the Earth Light as a platform
from which messages, technologies, and Art
can be presented on a large and broad scale.

The Earth Light has been designed to be mobile.
WE intend to bring these messages to places
        that would appreciate them most.

For US, it is an experiment that allows us
to experience the tribal designs that are
        soul needed in today’s world.

It is both an intended benefit for ourselves
as well as a way to practice sustainability…
        in transition–exemplary ideals taught
by the shining Earth Light example.

Yes, we are dreaming up a mobile community
dedicated to stewarding the Earth Light.
There is a place for everyone, and…
        people make it possible.

a traveling gypsy carnival hub... a MusEvolution... Ancient Wisdom Support...Muse Revival... The Inspiration Garden...The Earth Light also inspires the name of a tour... maybe a two year pilgrimage... across the planet, gathering with crystals and semi-precious stones, activating and releasing trapped light from the Earth. The result is a 3 dimensional merkaba energetically ingrained in the energetic imprint of the Earth's atmosphere (auric field).

...in addition to 'bringing light' and joy to people in those areas. My ancestors were these. 4 brothers who traveled from Germany to south America with a brand new invention: a 3 horse carousel. They brought joy, made money, and inspired all they came across. One day one of the brothers revealed that he would not continue on with the other brothers because he had made his girl pregnant. He stayed and became Guatemalan... until my grandfather moved to San Francisco as a young man and started a family.... But I miss my gyspy ancestors. I'll meet them one day.

Yes, you are entitled to your opinion, skinner,

      But, as I said, earlier:

      "Do you have any thoughts
to help shed some light on this
glimpse of a possible future (in preparation)?"

I don't see how your comment is helping here--
perhaps you are just now hearing about this and
it is a bit too advanced of an introduction?

Regardless, all that was prophesied is coming about
the prophesy of the oceans turning black was fulfilled recently
with the Gulf oil spill, for instance...'course that was Hopi prophesy  LOL

Hard for me to believe, though, that all the hype
of Mayan calendar and prophesy stuff is just made up
by the late José Argüelles--though, I admit, it has been said,
he was the father, in many eyes, of the modern "New Age Movement"

It is fascinating to know this now about you, Heather--
I was, of course, wondering about your connection already
that represents your affinity to the gypsy legacy...

The emissaries of Paradise are also modeled after such legacies...

My thought is that it is rubbish and not a real prophecy.  That is a valid opinion.

Of course, skinner, and I never said otherwise, however, this is not a forum
    topic for debunking prophesies...
I'm sure, though, that is what
    interests you more...may be
good for you to find or start one?
This was not started as a place to share
contrary opinions...and I will not attempt
to convince you...we are past that point...

You asked what people thought, in a forum about all topics in the humanities.  if you had further conditions you should have stated them up front. Most people understand that they will get a diversity of opinion on a forum like this. If you think I have broken some rule, try reporting it to the mods.  If you want to pursue only ideas synonymous with you own, put your efforts into responding to those not chiding me.

Of course, I had thought about ignoring you, but that is not my way wink

I am curious to see the original tablets from which
    José Argüelles made his interpretation,
it is probably that which you are
    finding it hard to accept,
reminds me a lil' of the Bible
being maintained as the whole truth,
when it, in itself is a also merely
    a collection of viewpoints shared.

    Wish I had direct translations
    of those original tablets...
