I'm thoroughly confused - I could swear I saw a forum entry stating that you did not need a Google Adsense account to sign up for HP Earnings - you only need it for HP Ads.
I also thought that you could sign up for eBay without a Google adsense account.
I was just shown a forum entry by staff (http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/86119?p … ost1852900) that states you need a Google adsense account to be able to use the eBay program - and I'm assuming that as Amazon will be under the HP Earnings umbrella you'll also need have an Adsense account for this!
This means that three totally different revenue streams from HP are all reliant on keeping a Google Adsense account....
Is this correct?
I don't think you need adsense to sign up for HP earnings program - but you do need to submit tax forms if you are a US citizen.
But without Adsense you will only be allowed onto the Amazon program if I am reading it correctly.
That's the problem - I've looked through the Help Files and the TOS - the help files seem to indicate that you have to be part of Adsense to sign up for HP Earnings - but this I'm sure is incorrect and seems to be a throw back from when it was just called HP Ads. (or maybe I'm wrong!)
Nowhere, that I can find where it specifically states that you must have an Adsense account for eBay - but here's the specific line from the Help that makes me think you'll need Google Adsense to use ANY affiliate account that is part of HP Earnings:
"Why do I need to have an active Google AdSense account running in order to use the HubPages Earnings Program?"
The various earnings programs on HubPages are all meant to work in a complementary manner. The HubPages Earnings Program for your impressions on your Hubs will run only in conjunction with an existing AdSense account.
http://hubpages.com/faq/#hpads-adsense
"
Now why would it say 'impressions' - that's why I think they've simply taken the HP Ads blurb and changed it to HP Earnings - this needs to be a lot clearer!
I for one am very worried that if I lose my Google Adsense account I effectively lose ALL my earnings from HP....
I've been thinking about that too.
With Home Girl just getting kicked off, and she'd Russian I think? Hassam is from Pakistan, the people Adsense seem to be booting off are from non-English speaking countries.
I live in Spain...Eeeek!
Do I need to move countries just to keep my Adsense account?
OK my earnings are next to nothing, but the direction HP is taking is going to take all my other options away too.
At least on here...
Yes. Now - if you lose your adsense or paypal account - you lose everything.
What a Great Opportunity!
Since the launch of the HubPages Earnings Program, there has been some confusion regarding the language and requirements. Please read this new entry for clarification, and let us know of any additional questions that come up!
Yes.
No adsense. No paypal. No money for you.
Yes, you do need adsense for Hubads. And apparently for every-dang-thing.
I can confirm that. As soon as I've lost Google account, I've lost automatically HP earnings account from ads too. Enjoy your ride. By the way I am a Canadian citizen and I am not from Russia, I am from Latvia. I don't think Google even knows that I can speak Russian.
Sorry I got your country wrong - I didn't mean to be offensive. But with a Canadian address it can't be a discrimination thing, I don't think.
Maybe you will get the account back on appeal...some people have done it.
That's okay, you are not offending me. I am Russian, and Latvian and Canadian - cosmopolitan, really. I've lived in Canada for so many years, part of me is here, part is lost somewhere in translation. I tried to appeal, so far silence is my answer. Basically, i do not expect any answer. They are not interested in me, I am just a moth for them.

Well, that’s nice, very nice. I haven’t got a clue of what I did wrong. And after filling in the online appeal form they told me they had reviewed my account information, taken my feedback into account, but still had concluded that my AdSense account has posed a significant risk. And I have no idea...

While I link my Adsense account, it directs me to Google, which then asks if I want to accept the association, I say yes, then it directs me back to Hubpages, but it just loads a blank page, nothing comes up. I could not find anything like this in the help section, is there something else I need to...

On browsing the forum, I have become aware that we can't earn on HubPages without AdSense. This is a grim realization for me.I have 29 featured hubs that are generally considered to be of reasonable quality. I applied for an AdSense account over a year ago, and since then I've had nothing. When I...

Since 2010, I've been accumulating pennies in my Google Adsense account, waiting for the day I'd hit the $100 pay threshold. I checked it a couple of weeks ago, it was at $94 and change. Today, all the numbers are GONE!!! I see no evidence that it's been added to my HubPages ads...

I am having difficulty signing up for the Hubpages Earnings Program. I go to the Hubpages Earnings Program Settings, under Ad Program the status says "not active", so I click the configure button and it says the following: While your Google AdSense account on HubPages is active, your...
