Think corporations are all powerful and the root of our problem?

   Think again.  If corporations are so powerful why is it that tobacco companies are forbidden to advertise?  Why aren't insurance companies permitted to sell insurance across state lines?  Why aren't oil companies permitted to drill for oil?  Why can't Boeing build a new factory in South Carolina?  If corporations are so powerful and control all the money why not proceed as they wish?  The root of our problems as a nation do not lie with corporations.  They sit smugly at the feet of a corrupt government.

         Our Government, does not work for, US, anymore. It is broken.
         
         The Congress, does not care or work for, US, anymore.
         
         Therefor, The Senate, does not know what to do and can"t figure it out.
         
         WE, have been asleep for the last fifty years. NOW, we are awake and the whole Government does not know what to do.

      I agree mostly with what you say.
      We let our checks and balances on our government erode over the years with the rise of billion dollar corps.
      Corps. Just try to make as much money as possible.
      
      Fixing government would fix corporations.
      
      We need finance reform and term limits so bad.

      Who does corrupt the government besides money? What is the margin of freedom of a government since lobbies are omnipresent? The government's role is to interfere to avoid abuses in the name of personal interests.
      If congress is that inadequate with the president it displays, in my eyes, the presence of two forces, the corporations (disguised behind the congress and Geithner, Bernanke) and the people (supposedly represented by its president).

      It is other corporations that stop them from doing the things you list. It sure isn't the common citizen or the 1%ers puppet politicians that make those decisions on thier own. The only thing stopping a corporation from doing anything it wants is the power of another corporation that is in competition for the same resources.
      The terrible thing is no matter which corporation wins the struggle, We the People lose.

         Somewhere I heard,( Nobody is above The Law ). Well, The President, our Government, Congress, and, The Senate, have and are still breaking more Laws today than ever before in History.
         
         So, when, We The People, try to say something or get our voice out, NOBODY, hears us.
         
         WE, know the problem, THEY DON'T, and will not hear US.

      Boeing is doing fine in SC, big oil has never had more access than now,despite the lies you hear, and insurance companies love the status quo, and will never trade the exemption from antitrust for the free market, as your post implies they might. Big money is sitting pretty and not bothered by those pesky progressive mosquitos

   But you forget the big money machines. Have you recently read about the prosecutions of Goldman Sachs, et al? Banks and money machines have bought and bribed government. Much less so other corporations, which have only lobbied our congressmen and bribed them.
   
   It's not all one or the other. When there is money involved, there is corruption. The point of Government is to be independent of such influence, and obviously our government has failed miserably in this area. However, until the people under the government are willing to accept their own responsibility for government's failure, we will continue as is. The outcries of the Tea Party and Occupy movements are indications that the average US citizen sees, understands and wants change from such corruption. It's a sense of public awareness and responsibility demanding change. You don't have to agree with any of these movements to agree that government is corrupt.
   
   Government has modeled corporation greed. What most Americans want now is to undo it. That won't happen until the elite, wealthy congress we now have is done away with a congress whose placement in office is not bought by wealthy individuals who run major corporations. And that scenario seems to be stuck in place for now.
