Does anyone use Reddit?

   I heard that Reddit has a lot of traffic and users and wondered if anyone can attribute increased audience from using Reddit.

      Traffic will rise for a moment or 2. If you want success from Reddit, it is like anything, you must put the work into it. It is a thriving community and one in which you need to know which sub direct to correctly post to as well as be an active member.

   My personal experience has been less than successful, however I don't think i am using it to it's full potential so i will be happy to get more advice and information from a more seasoned pro.

      It seems like a yappy group ...Reddit.... I have posted hubs there and not much ever happens... I think you have to be one of THE people there... although homesteadbound posted a hub there that went viral.  3000 views in a few hours...  Personally, not worth it for me...

         I went on and said I was a professional Astrologer (I am) and got trashed. They swore at me and acted like complete jerks. It seems to be a bunch of teens and young adults who are in love with themselves and think they are oh so hip. You have to play the game and post a few things, and the system makes you wait and won't let you post too much. Maybe you need to be one of THE people as davenidtown above suggests. Your traffic will spike for a few days if you manage to leave a link to one of your hubs, but they don't really like people from Hubpages that much. You have to decide if it's worth it to you. Good luck.

            Not true, I have been over there for a few weeks now and I have found the community pretty warm and very helpful.
            
            As in anything, you have to understand where you are what you want to accomplish and what the rules are before you go and start posting/linking things.

               Each person is different and gets a different experience with Reddit. Mine was several months ago, there was a long forum thread about it, and many confirmed that their experience was as negative as mine. If yours is good and it helps you get your work noticed, that's great.

               Its quite similar in experience. People don't stay on many of my links too long. Bounce rate is high.  I personally think, Reddit is better!

   If hubbers are so protective about the community, what makes you think reddit users are going to be any different and will tolerate any link dropper? They have filters for submitting same domain per day or week. So you have to vary your post submission per domain.

   I did give Reddit a try but found that for whatever reasons (possibly the topics of my hubs) other social media sites provided more traffic. I did not have any problems and thought the community aspect was nice, but I only have time to use a few sites for promotion so my decision to not use them was based strictly on productivity and not any other metrics.

   Eventually you're going to get "black listed."  What I mean is that the site is full of trolls, it's actually a troll kingdom...and the unwritten law of troll kingdom Reddit.com is that people that share their own links will eventually be identified and have anything they submit buried.
   
   Next time you're Hubpages subdomain gets put into a Google Sandbox...start a new reddit account, and share newer links of yours there - I still get daily traffic from reddit from older accounts and links that I shared there before sub reddit moderation trolls figured out that the links I was sharing were mostly my own.
   
   You can't win with those people on their own terms....they hate self publishers, and they hate people that promote their self published links on their troll kingdom website.
   
   It's a place where a picture of a cat's ass get's voted up, and no matter how good your own article is...it's going to eventually get you "blacklisted" because you shared it yourself.

   I don't see hubpages community any different than Reddit one. You have trolls, grammar nazis and people who insult others all the time in the name of religion. There are people here who just drop FAQ links without explaining anything to newbie threads, in their own terms that's valuable contribution. There are some folks on hubpages who enjoy hunting newbies with their sarcastic and so-called intelligent posts. You can also find people who oppose self promotion (be it backlinks, links in your own hubs or forum threads etc). So this makes  reddit no different than hubpages.

      The difference is that Hubpages.com isn't antagonistic towards persons who only joined to promote their own site or blog.

         I'm surprised especially after knowing that you're posting this point with experience of 2 years here on hubpages ignoring all the recent updated rules be it for earning and content publishing. Oh and not to forget after knowing how people got banned here just for asking what is "spun" content.

            Listen, I've had more problems with moderators than some other folks have had.  I'm positive that I've had hubs "unpublished" for totally stupid reasons.  I ALSO realize that moderators here have spotted Google Adsense TOS violations that might have saved my ass.
            
            You can self promote all you want to at Hubpages.com!  You only need to have original content and limit yourself to two links to any other website that you are affiliated with per hub.

   I've submitted a few links there, but have not invested enough time to know if it's worth it. I know my son gets a decent amount of traffic from the site with his reviews. The sub-reddits are important, I guess.
   
   As far as comparing the two sites, HP has all of the aforementioned trolls, flag nazies, etc.

    I had huge traffic, compared to normal, and then got banned.  So it was a brief taste of what might have been. Whether the traffic was worth having is another story.

       I probably referenced at least two "Ewbieisms" in my first comment here.  Next time a monster panda steals my cookies - I'll make another reddit account and get several hundred views a day on things I published since I've been there last.

    Sounds like another site promising something, demanding a lot of free 
    labor and giving nothing. I will give little and see if I get something.
