Do guys like girls with southern accents?

   I'm from Alabama so my friends pick on me sometimes, and I'm really shy so I get tongue-tied alot, but they're always saying how cute they think it is, especially my northerner guy friends, so I just wanted your opinion does a southern accent turn you off, or do you think it's cute? Also my accent isn't like out in the woods country, not saying that's bad though I love good country accent:), It's just an Alabama drawl.

      I don't think it matters! I do think people are either turned on or turned off by what's different or what they aren't used to. Being from the North, I find the southern accent different and charming...but it takes more than that to equate to an attraction!

   They sure do!  I've got a Texas drawl, and it has never done me wrong.  Yeehaw, girl!  My husband is from Ft. Lauderdale and he loves it.

   Ft. Laudy is in my neck of the woods I went to school in the carolinas and picked up a little accent, I think it depends on the girl

   Couldn't tell you about all guys but this one sure likes a southern girls accent.  It kinda makes you feel welcome.

    I am from the south so suffice to say that I have been more than exposed to all of the different accents 'round these here parts. On a personal note I was lucky enough to be more or less a city slicker so avoided the whole accent scenario...but as far as the rest of the folks are concerned...here goes..
    
    It really depends...there are quite a few variations of the accent that make me want to pull my fingernails out with needle nose pliers.
    
    As somebody mentioned...the long slow drawl can be beyond annoying. This also depends on the age of the person in question...the older you get the slower you talk...so an older southerner has a tendency to enter the rather annoying category.
    
    I don't think it is simply the accent either...but the absolute butchering of the English language on top of the accent. Not just a word here or there either...but when you start looking around for a translator mid-conversation...yeah it gets that bad. Granted the same could be said for some of the northern accents and pronunciations...but since I am not as used to hearing them I find the difference more intriguing than annoying.
    
    To answer the post after entering an array of tangents...A good old southern accent as a whole can be more of a turn on than turn off...just make sure your husband either has a more severe southern accent or loses his hearing when you enter the elderly stage ; )

    I like the southern accents. I like most American accents, they sound very different to Australians, except for some Texans who come close to sounding like Australians.
