      Gratitude is being able to thank someone when things are out of your control or something good happened that you didn't expect to happen.

         I think we should not only use gratitude only when something good happens. It should be part of our life. We should be thankful for literally everything in our life.

      Gratitude not taking people or life for granted.  The power of gratitude will bring favor to your life. Gratitude is something you do. Gratitude, thankfulness, gratefulness, or appreciation is a feeling, emotion or
      attitude in acknowledgment of a benefit that one has received or will receive  The power comes to your life when you do feel what you give in words and deeds.

      Gratitude is something that is a part of one's life. If applied in all aspects of one's life, such as taking the time to count your blessings and giving thanks, your life experience will only become more positive to yourself and to those surrounding you.

         Great wonderful words...Rightly said. I recently read Rhonda Byrne's "The Magic" book. It shows the power of gratitude. It is a great book. I have a hub on it. Please read it when you have time.

      The concept of gratitude is underestimated and taken for granted on the small scale. We're often mindless to things like getting a good night's sleep, having your neighbor turn off his stereo just when you need to start writing, having a bit of milk left in the fridge when cereal is all you have for breakfast, finding a $20. in the gas station parking lot.
      
      We're often mindful of the big things like getting a 100 score on a test, finding a lost wallet, or escaping a mugging. The emotion that naturally comes with these things makes us better for a time but it's more difficult to remember to be happy about the little things, too.
      
      Being happy and inducing gratitude takes no more than a remembering to do it. If you say things out loud, it makes it real. OMG, what another gorgeous day here in middle Tennessee. We've had the most mild winter ever, 70s and 80s. Now this is living. Gratitude.

   Without a truth or true feeling behind any action even gratitude becomes false and worthless. If you are grateful express it- it will at the very least promote a healthy change in your own personal attitude irregardless to what it/may draw to you. Anything which expresses a positive energy or provides a lift to someone's day can never be a bad thing,especially in today's social/political climate.
