Getting Marked as "Duplicate" Even After Duplicate Content Was Removed

   So, I published a hub the other day and found out that an older version of my work was published elsewhere on the web.  Hence, my hub was marked as duplicate.  However, I since removed my previously published content from the other site and tried to re-publish my hub.  But even after resubmission, my hub is still being marked as duplicate. 
   
   I don't want to be in violation of the rules by continuing to submit my content.  However, now that the older version of my work has been removed elsewhere on the web, I really want to publish this new hub.
   
   I know the warning for "duplicate" says that it could take up to 8 hours for the Hub Pages system to see duplicate content has been removed.  Maybe I resubmited my hub too early?  Anyway, it's been almost 24 hours now and I just resubmitted my hub.  While Google still provides a link to the previously published content, I have confirmed that it's been deleted when I click on the link.
   
   Any thoughts on this from the experts or staff?

      It takes a while for the original to be removed from Google's cache (days but sometimes weeks).
      
      If you email staff and explain that you have removed the first one, they may well override the dup content filter allowing your hub to be published.
      
      Oh and you have an edit button on your post (bottom right). If you are quick (it is only there for a limited time) you can correct your original post and delete the second one

         Thanks for your reply and thanks also for the information on how to delete and edit my posts on the forum.
         
         I wasn't aware that I had to wait for Google to remove any previous content from it's cache before republishing.  I hope that's not the case because this process can take forever.
         
         I did email Simone Smith and sent messages to the Hub staff so hopefully they'll approve it.  I usually don't receive a response when I email them though.  I hope they can help me out because waiting months for Google to remove it's cache is a pain.

            As Izzy references, it is factual, that it takes quite a bit of time for your previously published version to be dropped by Google, so it will continue to fire up the duplicate flag until Google does drop it. I have ran into this over time, not only here, but on other sites as well.

               Dale, that's interesting.  But since the warnings claims a human being is reviewing topics and flagging duplicates, why wouldn't they approve a topic if the original has been removed...even if Google is still caching it?  Waiting months for Google to clear the original from their cache isn't overly realistic.  Oh well.

   Mine don't seem to go away either. One I checked to day and the site that copied it doesn't even exist anymore.

      Donna, are you saying that your topics are never approved even after Google removes them?  If so, that's not very encouraging.

         No, they are not removed by Google or anyone. They just have that copyright sign next to them on my list in accts. and that is never removed even when the duplicate copy is removed from the site that copied it.
         
         I guess I must be talking about something different than you all. I have never had a problem with my topics being approved for publication.
