He sacrificed himself so that men would be forgiven, but did he cover his own keister in the process?

I don't think so, what Jesus taught was immoral, which aligns with what the Bible teaches, immorality.

Yes, I know that's what you'd like to believe, despite what you post here, which interestingly enough completely aligns with what the Bible teaches, or doesn't teach, depending on the verse.

No Ron, He went to hell, took the keys and got back on with business, Christ had no sins, so hell had no hold on Him...

He came to earth specifically to die on the cross.  I'd call that suicide, myself, and most churches frown on that practice.

Actually He came to earth to solve OUR sin problem, we killed Him for it, not quite suicide, if foreknowledge of deadly outcome is suicide, then most of us are guilty of it by the lifestyles we lead.

Suicide is taking your OWN life, I would guess being given a mock trial and then beaten before being crucified would not come into that category.

        We did the killing.

@agua instead of solving he created more problems....he divided human beings who still clash on hubpages in his name smile....crusades , witch hunting, killing of popes ...so many endless list....jesus should have trusted his father's creation in their ability to solve their own problems rather than trying and failing in his attempt to solve problems...its good that he was called back in his 30s  or else he would have caused more trouble...

The problem He solved was our separation from God, people cause all the other problems, but I do acknowledge that Christ told us He came to bring division, however that division was to separate those who would enter the Kingdom of God, from those who would stay in the kingdom of the world (the enemies kingdom).

In that He has succeeded, and any cursory look at the world system shows that man cannot solve his own problems, and further that where problems are being addressed, you will normally see Christ, or one of His believers in there solving it.

You may not like it, but get over it, (to quote a UK campaign by homosexuals) smile

@agua is it?...what problem did christ or his follower solve?....believers keep saying that world is in worst mess right now...Christianity is dominant force since last 500 yrs...follower of christ solved it or made world a mess?..

Coming to your first point....separation between two humans is more painful than separation between human and god...god is still unproven entity but one can talk/touch/see/relate with human...Anything which separates two humans is not worthy of pursuing....

I have great sorrow for you, I really do, your confusion is a pain to watch.

Christ solved the biggest problem, the hold that the enemy has over all those born into this world.

Before Christ there was no guaranteed way to escape the enemies plans, after Christ the enemy was defeated spiritually (and knows it) and no human need again be under his demonic authority.

Unless they chose to by rejecting the salvation Christ alone offers.

@agua i am not confused...I am clear...jesus solved nothing...i am not being as harsh as jews who saiy jesus was most influential and most damaging among false prophets...

One may live in make belief world of enemy etc...But jesus solved none of human problems...he himself was victim of false believes...He died for his convictions...

For me jesus was good man , his intentions where good but thats it...

Gosh. You should step back and read what you are writing. I pity you - it is really sad to see a grown man in this sort of mental state. Do you tell this to children? Because I can see you get a lot of personal satisfaction from claiming authority in this way.

Have you been to see a doctor? Maybe they could help - these sort of delusions are not un-treatable.

First we need proof of this Jesus then we can determine if he lived. If he lived- was he conceived by a virgin( a mistranslation of Hebrew *young girl) Then we must have evidence, not oral history written down a hundred years later by non Jews placing him at the scene of the crime. Seing things hearing things and third-party testimony does not work for those of you who are  Paulines. Then the Romans had to crucify this Jesus. This still stinks of fraud with no evidence and multiple accounts showing time and day differences. Next the resurrection 3 days and nights of this Jesus going somewhere not accounted for However the best hypothesis of myth shows Jesus burning in hell naked with the devil since he paid for the sins of the world. Or maybe Jesus got busted for being involved in a Jewish/pagan mystery religion. He was arrested while a naked boy ran from the garden. The boy could not be reached for comment. But that mystery rite of passage is clearly described in other 1st c BCE manuscripts. So this case has been dismissed based on improbability of the suspect known as Joshua aka Jesus.
