Hi Jennzie,
wish I could give you the magic answer but there are so many people worldwide now forced to ask themselves this very question. The best answer I can give without knowing anything about you or your skillset is to say believe in yourself. Look at your interests or hobbies and explore every opportunity within this group. You're on hub pages and writing so maybe pursue this to the max,
MJ.
Hi Jennzie,
This a good question and I don't think there is one answer. I can tell you what I decided to do and that is MLM. I have tried other MLM opportunies before and I have always enjoyed the people and the products ond/ or services. The one thing I did not like was recruiting people. Now I found a system that does that for you. Good Luck in your quest.

I have earned a full time income online since about 1999 although I have been self employed since earlier. Basically the magic answer is you treat your online efforts like you would an offline business. In order to succeed online you need to stay focused, keep updating your skills and methods you use to generate income and make sure you are putting your efforts in to areas that are generating you cash. You don't always have to work long hours but you do always have to think smart!
trying to figure that out myself but there are many ways that you can do it, I guess it's all about finding out what you like to do also, but I do know that you can't be too picky, I think I have found something that I may like to do to earn a full time income from home. What you enjoy is what you will most likely stick to in the long run
Treat it like a real business and put in the hours and you can earn. I gave up the day job and now earn my living online..
It's not easy. I've put a year and a half of serious effort into it, and I only just cracked $1200 a month, which is minimum wage in my state.
I had to learn SEO, on-page search engine optimization. That is, I use titles, headers, and specific language to help search engines -- and readers! -- understand what I'm talking about, so that search engines will send me visitors looking for that topic.
I had to set aside my ambition to write only educational (low-earning) pages. I also write on more commercial topics like collectibles and products I like and use (my exercise bike, for example, or the ice compresses I use for my arthritis).
I had to find ways to match my areas of knowledge, expertise, and passion with what other people are looking for.
I had to learn how to look at my traffic stats to discover what my readers are searching for, and do more of it.
And I had to write about 400 articles -- mostly not on Hubpages, which I haven't really gotten to work yet as a money-earner -- in order to build up multiple income streams.
I suspect you'd get there faster flipping burgers.
I make a full-time living online, which brings me in somewhat over the average wage in the UK and way, way more than the wages paid in the region where I choose to live.
However, I achieve this (a) by offering a skilled and specialist service based on years of learning and years more of work experience, (b) working long hours and sometimes even through the night so as to meet deadlines and also so as not to have to turn down any client more than twice in a row.
There is no easy online money, except for scammers who manage to convince others that their system is the exception to the rule.
I've been at this a while, although I have a full-time job, so I haven't been working at this full time. My goal is to have fifty sites each paying me, on average, about $1 per day. So far one site is up to about 2/3 of that, and another site is up to half that. (For a looooong time, that site was making me about $2 a month but that recently corrected itself, one hopes permanently.) The others bring in varying amounts, from $2 to $5 per month, and of course, I don't have fifty of them yet. They are not all Adsense, but a combination of Amazon, POD, Adsense, and other streams of income.
I also do a bit of proofreading, which brings in quite a bit of income.
it takes time to grow social media. A few hours a day will add up. probably wont make money for the first 6 months to 1 year until it starts to pick up more.
I had no choice to start earning a fulltime income from home. I needed to stay home with my kids after a divorce, and my boyfriend couln't find a job. I had to. So I put in the learning and hours it took. I didn't have money to join anything, and worked hard at making money in free ways with my computer or online. My boyfriend helped me learn how to use a computer. We have both been working from home since early 2008. It was a lot of hard work, still is, but if you have to you just do it. Want it badly enough, be determined, and learn and work hard.
I earn a full time income working from home. I'm not earning as much as I was earning ten years ago when I went out to work, but ,there again, I do not have travel expenses to worry about, suitable clothing or horrible managers. So, it's all good. I'm a much better researcher than I am writer, that's where I earn the majority of my income. I ghost write and also research topics relating to the Criminal Justice System of England and Wales (my background is Criminal Justice) Keep at it- you'll get there with determination.
What plussizepixie said.
If you treat it like a full time job for two years you'll generally make a passive income. I've treated it like a part time job for two years and am making a decent part time passive income.

Do any hubbers spend 40 hours a week (or more) writing and researching hubs? Does the effort pay off if the site is treated like a regular job?

I mean can it be done? I've made it to sixty cents this month. That's the most I have made so far, but am not sure if you can really make a lot on hubpages? Is it possible to do it? I've just written six to eight hubs today. I'm guessing that the more often you publish...

If you're working full time at home, do you feel that you are wasting your time even when you relax? My wish is to earn a decent enough online income and I read a lot, experiment a lot, learn from my mistakes and stuff like that. But when I decide to relax, I get this irritating feeling that I'm...
