I am having an impossible time trying to figure out how to refer my parents to HubPages.
I understand the concept of an URL and where it is located. So my url to my "home page" is http/NAME/HP/com.

I found my unique tracker, for this example we will say I changed it to AlienWare, all though it is default.
According to the learning center, from my understanding. It would be:

    http/name/hp/_AlienWare/hub/(and then your hub title)

First off can it be any hub? Next, I signed out and tried clicking on my "Unique tracker/sign up thing?" to see where it would bring me. It just brought me to my specific hub, nothing happened. Should something happen?
I then clicked "Sign Up" thinking it would say you are a referral or a place to enter in a tracker... nothing.
I then looked at Hubs about URLS and Referrals, yet they seemed to beat around the bush. I followed the instructions and am not getting anything. Lastly, there is no URL Tracker that I can find in my account page... Now, I clicked on "Earnings" then "Referral Tracker" which then indicated my tracker and I can change it, when I click on the default tracker it says "Description: default tracker
Sorry, no users have signed up under this tracker yet."

This problem could be easily solved if HubPages pre-made the referrals with the correct URL. By clicking this it would send you to the sign up page. Just like that you would have a referral.

Please help, I can't figure it out to save my own life.

You can create your own unique tracker by saying something like "If you wish to join me and write on HubPages, sign up here."  Do this in a text capsule or in your profile page.  Highlight the "sign up here" (or however you wish to word your invitation) and click on the link icon within the text capsule in edit form.  When the blank URL pops up you insert the following:

      http://hubpages.com/-xyz/user/new

In the "-xyz" space add your default tracker or the other one you created.  Either one will work just fine.

      Hope this helps!

Okay, this has helped a lot. Thank you. Now, here is the question originally I put http://hubpages.com/_xyz/hub/How-To-.....
He followed it and was brought to my "How to..." Hub, so I told him to just go to the bottom and sign up. He had and now if my referral tracker it is saying I have 5 views, and 0 sign ups, but, when I click on my default tracker it says his name, hub score, hubs, date signed up. Does this mean I did or did not refer him. You can see it is contradicting...

Disregard, It took awhile for HubPages to update as it is now showing I have 1 referral. Thank you for your help!

You are most welcome.  Sometimes it does take a bit of time for things to show up properly.
