Wolf Reintroductions and the hunter .............

   Whats the matter with the human mind when sport hunting  requires only that you KIILL!  Kill without eating , without using the edible  parts of the animal you kill , and what kind of idiot would shoot a wolf  ? After the ,almost  total extinction and then reintroduction of the most magestic animal on earth ?  And I am a hunter !

      This guy is a twat unless the wolf was attacking his kids then he should be strung up, we need the eco system the way nature intended

   I really don't like the use of 'killing' as a sport nor the idea of using it to control population though I understand it. I think it should be geared more towards 'trappers' therefore they earn some $$ and maybe use the 'meat' towards dog food or something. Wasting the carcass is just ... wasteful

   Now I'm an animal lover. All creatures big and small. Would never shoot anything unless as you said for food however not the wolf never and never any animal in danger of extinction.In that case I eat salad. I have never seen one up close but I have heard them back in my childhood and their howls sounded like music to me. Combine that with a full moon and I'm in love. Wolf lover forever.

   Wolfs are beautiful and intelligent creatures. They have been reviled and mis-understood for ages by man. Certain Native American tribes had a different take on them- saw them as fellow spirits in their proper order in free nature. Most others saw them as competitors for game and destroyers of livestock. The wolves were eventually genocided east of the Mississippi and nearly so to the west. The cruelty shown them back then is enough to make one ill. For example a male would be caught and have its urinary track tied off with wire then released to die a horrible death. That was the mind-set. Re-introduction efforts the last few decades gave hope that maybe man was finally doing the right thing. This new development about murdering them again is most disheartening and very, very sad.
