Mitt Romney on Israel and Palestine:
"You hope for some degree of stability, but you recognize that this is going to remain an unsolved problem. We live with that in China and Taiwan. All right, we have a potentially volatile situation but we sort of live with it, and we kick the ball down the field and hope that ultimately, somehow, something will happen and resolve it.
We don’t go to war to try and resolve it imminently."
*So far, so good. No war! Really glad to hear that!*
But honestly -- then he has an exclusivel opportunity to get a what could well be an international policy SCOOP from someone who really knows his stuff, and he... declines?
Really? REALLY??
"On the other hand, I got a call from a former secretary of state. I won’t mention which one it was, but this individual said to me, you know, I think there’s a prospect for a settlement between the Palestinians and the Israelis after the Palestinian elections. I said, “Really?” And, you know, his answer was, “Yes, I think there’s some prospect.” And I didn’t delve into it.”
There isn't going to be peace in the middle east even after the democrats deity proclaims it.
Romney is in the Premier League of idiocy. As a Brit looking in I am astonished by his arrogant ignorance. Every-time he opens his mouth a foot quickly follows. I'm looking forward to the televised debates, it will be a great laugh. Then again, I was in the US during the 2008 debates and was glued to the vice presidential one with Biden and Palin. Surprisingly she got through it without any controversy, and I suspect that it was because Biden was too much of a gent to capitalize and embarrass her.
But this time Romney will be exposed to the world. The fact is Obama is much more intelligent than him. Regardless of policy, regardless of politics, he will wipe the floor with him. In America image and personality sways the voter. It cannot be denied. Yet in this case, even policy may be relevant. Romney is just another dangerous loose cannon, easily led by the neo-cons. For Gods sake, surely you must have learned the lesson from the Bush years. There is no Blair in Britain anymore thank God. There is no puppet. Europe will not follow blindly anymore. The last thing they want is an idiot gung-ho gun-slinger in the White House. However, will he be good for the people, with jobs and the economy? Well that's the big question up to the voters. An intelligent and well informed electorate is the fulcrum of a great and powerful democracy.
Thank you for your candor.
Americans collectively have ADD -- and I do not intend that as any kind of slight or insult to people with genuine mental illness!
We do seem to have extremely short memories and attention spans.
And we have loud and well-funded voices spouting hate and lies day in and day out.
Add to that the Super PAC money funding Romney's campaign.
Radio and TV are the only source of information for too many voters.
Those messages are being controlled by ... well, we know who.
We've been through economic hell since 2008. I can't say everyone is feeling it, but everyone I know (e.g., not the 1% -- whoever they are) has been hurt, in many cases severely.
Obama took the fall for the Bush policies.
People do not understand the deficit and just see Ryan as the "intellectual" (gag me) thrifty one.
They WANT to believe that because Romney is uber rich, he will make them uber rich too.
Let's face it. That is the fantasy behind his candidacy. I know how to make people rich.
Obama wants to take your money and give it to freeloaders who didn't earn it.
Agree on the Biden/Palin debates. He had one hand tied behind his back and was being a gent. Gloves come off with Ryan, though!
But now that you've brought up Palin, there are (IMHO) dangerous similarities between her and Romney on complete lack of understanding of world events.
Neither one should be anywhere near the red button -- or the White House!
I think we should admire Romney for his candor.
Israel vs Palestine is too much for him so he will "kick the can"
47% of America won't vote for him. Because they don't pay income taxes.
That number includes most people on Social Security.
Includes soldiers in combat who don't pay taxes on their combat pay.
Includes disabled vets receiving government money.
Actually even includes Mitt Romney who receives his money from investment income not wages.
If they were still alive it would include Romney's father and mother who received welfare.
Even includes Ryan who received Social Security after his father died.
The list could go on and on.
Which ones are the parasites?

Critical thinkers are in the minority these days. Between 1900 and about 1960, critical thinking was taught at schools so that people would reject magical thinking. During the past thirty or forty years, with the decline of solid academic education, more and more people have reverted to magical...

Does he really think that the solution to the dwindling social security fund is to privatize it? Perhaps it would be a better idea to return the money that has been "borrowed" without our consent? Does he really think that wall street, the people partially responsible for our...
